A street between New York police headquarters and the Ma nhattan federal courthouse closed since the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks should be reopened to save businesses there, local politicians wrote to Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano.
U.S. Representative Jerrold Nadler and four fellow Democrats, including Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer and state Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver, wrote to Napolitano today urging the department to work with local law enforcement to help determine how the street, Park Row, can be opened.
A legal case for 9/11 families that is not related to the case before Judge Hellerstein has either come close to resolution, or the judge may be replaced soon. From the New York Times:
Lawyers for families of 9/11 victims have taken the unusual legal step of asking a federal appeals court in Manhattan to replace a judge overseeing a group of terrorism-financing lawsuits, saying he is moving too slowly in resolving key motions.
The judge, George B. Daniels of Federal District Court in Manhattan, has yet to rule on almost 100 motions by defendants to dismiss the case, the lawyers said in a petition to the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
The lawsuits before Judge Daniels seek to hold charities, financial institutions and other defendants responsible for providing money and other support to Al Qaeda and for the 9/11 attacks. The suits were originally consolidated before another judge, Richard Conway Casey; after Judge Casey’s death in 2007, the case was transferred to Judge Daniels.
This week news about the U.S. and North Atlantic Treaty Organization armed conflict in Afghanistan, the largest and longest-running war in the world, has begun to penetrate the wall of triumphalism and complacency erected by Washington during the past year’s unparalleled military escalation in the South Asian nation.
Between the inauguration of Barack Obama as the 44th president of the United States on January 20, 2009 and now, the number of American troops in the war zone has almost tripled, from 32,000 to 94,000, with the total to reach 100,000 in upcoming weeks. Late last month U.S. combat forces in Afghanistan for the first time outnumbered those in Iraq, 94,000 compared to 92,000. There will soon also be an aggregate of 50,000 armed forces provided by Washington’s NATO allies and NATO partnership nations.
The 150,000 U.S. and allied troops in place by this summer will exceed by tens of thousands the largest amount of foreign forces ever before stationed in Afghanistan: An estimated 118,000 Soviet troops that constituted the high water mark of the USSR’s deployment between late 1979 and early 1989. GUANTANAMO BAY, CUBA — At the U.S. naval station here, a handsome electronic sign hangs between two concrete pillars. In yellow enamel against a blue metal backdrop is a map of Cuba, the “Pearl of the Antilles,” above flashing time and temperature readings.
“Welcome Aboard,” the sign says.
The cost of the marquee, along with a smaller sign positioned near the airfield: $188,000. Among other odd legacies from war-on-terror spending since 2001 for the troops at Guantanamo Bay: an abandoned volleyball court for $249,000, an unused go-kart track for $296,000 and $3.5 million for 27 playgrounds that are often vacant.
The Pentagon also spent $683,000 to renovate a cafe that sells ice cream and Starbucks coffee, and $773,000 to remodel a cinder-block building to house a KFC/Taco Bell restaurant.
The spending is part of at least $500 million that has transformed what was once a sun-beaten and forgotten Caribbean base into one of the most secure military and prison installations in the world. That does not include construction bonuses, which typically run into the millions.

More than 2,600 people were murdered in New York City on 9/11. The five men accused of planning the 9/11 attacks have been in US custody for several years but have still not been brought to justice. Why? Because the Bush administration held the men for years in secret prisons, and then insisted on trying the men in an untested military commission.
Now the Obama administration is considering holding the trial in a commission, too . These military commissions are not only lacking in fundamental due process guarantees, they are extremely inefficient. Since 9/11, military commissions have tried only three terrorism suspects. US federal courts, by contrast, have successfully completed more than 400 terrorism cases in that time.
Seismic Signals Reveal Explosives Were Used at the WTC on 9/11, according to geophysicist André Rousseau (*)

Seismic signals were recorded on September 11 2001 during the period when the North and South Towers (respectively WTC1 and WTC2) were penetrated and collapsed, as well as during the collapse of Building 7 of the WTC (also known as WTC7), a building which had not been hit by a plane.
Among the seismic data published on this subject, it is the Palisades recording station, located 34 km north-east of Manhattan, which gives us the data most apt for analysis, particularly for determining their source. These wave graphs are taken from the publications of the Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory of Columbia University (LDEO), as shown in figure 1 and figure 2.
Many remember the stories of phone calls on 9/11 allegedly made from victims on-board the planes. Many people know suspect that they could not have been made from cell phones for different reasons. Some reasons for not using cells in-flight are technologically inspired, some are more from a physical possibilities perspective.
The Federal Communications Commission and the Federal Aviation Administration have each recommended that airlines not allow passengers to use cell phones during commercial flights. The FAA fears that the RF signal emitted by devices using the 800MHz spectrum band might interfere with the navigation systems of the plane, specifically GPS instrumentation. Yet there is no documented case of an air accident or serious malfunction caused by a cell phone’s interfering with a plane’s navigation system.
The FCC’s concern is that wireless networks on the ground might be disrupted by the cell phones flying overhead. As a plane flies over a wireless cell tower on the ground, the FCC believes, the cell site will detect all the cell phones operating inside the plane and go to work registering those devices to operate on the network. But by the time the tower registers and connects all those mobile phones passing overhead, the plane will have passed into the range of the next cell tower on its route. This uses up system resources and could hurt network performance for connected phones on the ground.
But some experts believe that this worry is outdated. “Color me highly skeptical that this is a real problem with modern systems,” says Ken Biba, CTO of Novarum, a wireless consulting and engineering group. “Modern digital phones actually use lower power, and, further, the cell towers have very directional antennas designed for covering the surface of the earth [not the air above].”
There are apparently no current photos for Abu Zubaydah, who we had been told was a top leader of Al Qaeda.

The federal government case against Mohamed Harkat appeared to suffer a significant blow yesterday when a document was introduced in court showing that Abu Zubaydah, once considered a 9/11 mastermind, had nothing to do with the attacks.
The document, which quotes U. S court filings declassified last week, shows that Zubaydah, once believed to be one of the top leaders in al-Qaeda, was not even a member of the terrorist group.
Relatives contend Rodriguez’s fatal disease was linked to the many days she spent working in the toxic cloud over lower Manhattan in the aftermath of the Sept. 11 attacks.
“If this government really cared, they would have done something years ago,” said Rodriguez’s niece Stacy Asencio-Sutphen.
Rodriguez, of Lindenhurst, L.I., the mother of two young boys, is among nearly 900 first responders to have died from an array of ailments traced to their service at the smoldering World Trade Center.
Michael Fullerton, founder of Vernon 9/11 Truth, is offering $5000 to the first person to provide some specific answers relating to the 9/11 event.
Until July 1st, Okanagan residents can receive $10,000.
Contestants must explain precisely how the official theory of the WTC7 collapse, as supported by NIST (The National Institute of Standards and Technology), does not violate the laws of physics.
NIST maintains WTC7 came down due to fire damage alone. WTC7 was a 47 story building about the width and length of a football field that was not hit by a plane on 9/11.
Contestants must explain how normal oxygen-starved office fires caused 8 stories or about 100 feet of structure including the 58 perimeter columns and 25 massive core columns of WTC7 to be effectively removed simultaneously floor by floor so that the building was able to free fall straight down symmetrically for at least 2.25 seconds.
UPDATE: WWF in the US is sending out a statement saying that it finds the ad “appalling” and it’s “working to determine whether or not this is a hoax of some sort.” It should probably talk to its Israeli office; according to Advertolog:

If it does turn out to be an elaborate hoax we’ll let you know. Although that seems unlikely!
UPDATE 2: WWF just issued the following statement, saying the ad was a spec ad from an ad agency seeking their business, rather than an ad authorized by WWF. Spec ads generally contain wanton sex, but other forms of wanton bad taste pop up as well, as this episode indicates. The real question here: Why don’t ad agencies make it clear that these are spec ads before letting them pop up on ad websites, where bloggers pick them up? Seems sensible. WWF’s full statement:
New York real estate developer Larry Silverstein and several key individuals associated with his firm, Silverstein Properties, appear to have had remarkable luck on September 11, 2001, when changes in their schedule or coincidental circumstances saved them from being high up in the World Trade Center when it was attacked.
Silverstein Properties took over the lease of the World Trade Center seven weeks before 9/11, the only time the complex had gone under private control [1], and after 9/11 Larry Silverstein sought damages of over $7 billion from his insurers for the destruction of the Twin Towers. [2] On September 11, the firm had temporary offices on the 88th floor of the North Tower. (American Airlines Flight 11 impacted that tower between its 93rd and 99th floors.) Of its 160 employees, 54 were working in those offices at the time of the attacks and four of them died. [3]
HIGH-LEVEL INDIVIDUALS AVOIDED DANGER ON 9/11
The fortunate circumstances that kept the high-level individuals out of danger the morning of 9/11 were quite extraordinary. Larry Silverstein survived the attacks supposedly because his wife forced him to go to a doctor’s appointment instead of a meeting at the WTC; Silverstein’s son and daughter survived because, independently of each other, they were running late; his top aide survived because he cut short a meeting he was in at the top of the North Tower; his publicist agreed to join a meeting at the WTC at 9:00 a.m. instead of 8:00 a.m.; and others associated with Silverstein Properties may have avoided danger due to the cancellation of a meeting on the 88th floor of the North Tower.
Lawyers for thousands of ground zero workers suing over their exposure to dust from the destroyed World Trade Center have offered to lower their legal fees in an attempt to salvage a major settlement in the case.
The law firm Worby Groner Edelman & Napoli Bern was initially poised to take home a third or more of a $657 million settlement negotiated on behalf of the workers this spring, but the future of that payout was put in doubt when U.S. District Judge Alvin Hellerstein rejected the deal in March.
Hellerstein said the settlement contained too much money for the legal team and too little for people who are legitimately ill.
The censorship of the 9/11 false flag seems to have slightly cracked lately, especially outside the United States, with Richard Gage, AIA, presenting the World Trade Center demolitions to large audiences and getting favorable media reviews in Japan, Australia, New Zealand and Canada, and the Iranian government requesting that the United Nations investigate 9/11.
Evidently, our ultra-corrupt–or ultra-frigthened–congress and president are not ready to swallow 9/11 Truth. Some of them even claim ignorance of Building 7′s structural failure. But how about forcing them to take a few baby steps? Like having them face the fact that any high school kid will agree that the official technical investigation into the structural failure of Building 7 is less than satisfactory?
