Huffington Post Covers ‘The Big Lie’

June 23, 2011

Nor Cal Truth    6/23/11

‘The Big Lie’ made some big headlines on Monday morning. The Huffington post surprised everyone involved in ’the Big Lie’ project with a VIDEO report in their politics section.

The Huffington Post has been reaching unique-visitor numbers upwards of 35 million a month lately, surpassing the New York Times. If even of a fraction of those numbers were exposed to this message from 9/11 family members for the first time, than Truth Be Told has already achieved one goal: conversation and education.

I would say the report was balanced, though imperfect in details. Thanks to Huffington Post and reporter Ana Compain-Romero! Allow me to fill in some of those erred-details:

Overall, the teamwork involved in this project has been a great source of enjoyment for myself.

The screen-shots below are from the Huffington Post article. I almost forgot to mention that this very blog is featured in that Huffington Post report…

PATRIOT Act Extension Signed by Obama

May 29, 2011

source: Huffington Post   May 29, 2011

Minutes before a midnight deadline, President Barack Obama signed into law a four-year extension of post-Sept. 11 powers to search records and conduct roving wiretaps in pursuit of terrorists.

“It’s an important tool for us to continue dealing with an ongoing terrorist threat,” Obama said Friday after a meeting with French President Nicolas Sarkozy.

With Obama in France, the White House said the president used an autopen machine that holds a pen and signs his actual signature. It is only used with proper authorization of the president.

Congress sent the bill to the president with only hours to go on Thursday before the provisions expired at midnight. Votes taken in rapid succession in the Senate and House came after lawmakers rejected attempts to temper the law enforcement powers to ensure that individual liberties are not abused.

The Senate voted 72-23 for the legislation to renew three terrorism-fighting authorities. The House passed the measure 250-153 on an evening vote.

A short-term expiration would not have interrupted ongoing operations but would have barred the government from seeking warrants for new investigations.

Congress bumped up against the deadline mainly because of the stubborn resistance from a single senator, Republican freshman Rand Paul of Kentucky, who saw the terrorist-hunting powers as an abuse of privacy rights. Paul held up the final vote for several days while he demanded a chance to change the bill to diminish the government’s ability to monitor individual actions.

The Day Our Freedom Died – Obama Signs PATRIOT Act Into Law for Four Years

May 29, 2011

by Layllah Therion   source: Technorati   May 29, 2011

American freedom just suffered two heartbreaking defeats in the span of two days. Yesterday President Obama signed the Patriot Act extension ensuring the FBI will go right on spying and tapping Americans communications. Two days ago the Senate Judiciary Committee passed the IP Protect Act which will allow the government to block websites and search engines accused of “copyright infringement”.

I write this with a heavy heart and tears welling in my eyes. The country I was born and raised in has become a foreign nation overnight. Innocent until proven guilty died a very undignified death, and censorship has rooted itself in virgin territory.

Melodramatic, not if you enjoy reading non-government subsidized media or surfing underground sites. The road to “Big Brother’s” White-house is awash with the blood of our fellow citizens who now have died for an America relegated to the past.

Osama Bin Ladens death doesn’t seem like much of a victory in light of the Patriot Act extension; buying money orders at the bank is still out of the question if you don’t deposit matching funds. I never really understood that aspect of the Patriot Act. How many terrorists buy money orders? Does the average black market arms dealer prefer a traceable check over cash? The track ability is why I like to pay my bills with them, it avoids that annoying phone call from the utility company claiming they didn’t get my payment when in actuality they got it, cashed it, and lost it!

Noam Chomsky: My Reaction to Osama bin Laden’s Death

May 8, 2011

Thus Obama was simply lying when he said, in his White House statement, that “we quickly learned that the 9/11 attacks were carried out by al Qaeda.”

by Noam Chomsky   source: Guernica    May 8, 2011

It’s increasingly clear that the operation was a planned assassination, multiply violating elementary norms of international law. There appears to have been no attempt to apprehend the unarmed victim, as presumably could have been done by 80 commandos facing virtually no opposition—except, they claim, from his wife, who lunged towards them. In societies that profess some respect for law, suspects are apprehended and brought to fair trial. I stress “suspects.” In April 2002, the head of the FBI, Robert Mueller, informed the press that after the most intensive investigation in history, the FBI could say no more than that it “believed” that the plot was hatched in Afghanistan, though implemented in the UAE and Germany. What they only believed in April 2002, they obviously didn’t know 8 months earlier, when Washington dismissed tentative offers by the Taliban (how serious, we do not know, because they were instantly dismissed) to extradite bin Laden if they were presented with evidence—which, as we soon learned, Washington didn’t have. Thus Obama was simply lying when he said, in his White House statement, that “we quickly learned that the 9/11 attacks were carried out by al Qaeda.”

Nothing serious has been provided since. There is much talk of bin Laden’s “confession,” but that is rather like my confession that I won the Boston Marathon. He boasted of what he regarded as a great achievement.

There is also much media discussion of Washington’s anger that Pakistan didn’t turn over bin Laden, though surely elements of the military and security forces were aware of his presence in Abbottabad. Less is said about Pakistani anger that the U.S. invaded their territory to carry out a political assassination. Anti-American fervor is already very high in Pakistan, and these events are likely to exacerbate it. The decision to dump the body at sea is already, predictably, provoking both anger and skepticism in much of the Muslim world.

We might ask ourselves how we would be reacting if Iraqi commandos landed at George W. Bush’s compound, assassinated him, and dumped his body in the Atlantic. Uncontroversially, his crimes vastly exceed bin Laden’s, and he is not a “suspect” but uncontroversially the “decider” who gave the orders to commit the “supreme international crime differing only from other war crimes in that it contains within itself the accumulated evil of the whole” (quoting the Nuremberg Tribunal) for which Nazi criminals were hanged: the hundreds of thousands of deaths, millions of refugees, destruction of much of the country, the bitter sectarian conflict that has now spread to the rest of the region.

Bin Had

May 7, 2011

source: Washingtons Blog    May 7, 2011

Preface: You can either dismiss all of the allegations in the first part of this post as nutty conspiracy theories, or decide that they are real and that I am using parody. Your choice. Either way, it is clear that we’ve been had …

Forget that Bin Laden likely received CIA training and support in fighting against the Russians in Afghanistan. See this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this and this.

Forget the allegations by France’s oldest and second-largest newspaper that a CIA agent met with Bin Laden two months before 9/11, and the claim by a former FBI translator that Bin Laden worked with the CIA right up until 9/11.

Forget that 9/11 was entirely foreseeable, and that government more or less heard the 9/11 hijackers’ plans from their own mouths.

Forget that Dick Cheney was in charge of all counter-terrorism exercises, activities and responses on 9/11 (see this Department of State announcement, this Department of State announcement, this CNN article and this essay), and that:

Forget that governments from around the world admit that they carry out false flag terrorism to justify their political goals.

Finally, forget that the U.S. could easily have captured Bin Laden in 2001 or 2007, but chose not to do so.

Bin Had

Ignoring the above, it is still obvious that we’ve been had.

Specifically, only 5 hours after the 9/11 attacks, Donald Rumsfeld said “my interest is to hit Saddam”. He also said “Go massive . . . Sweep it all up. Things related and not.”

U.S. Revises Story on Bin Laden’s Raid

May 4, 2011

Nor Cal Truth   May 4, 2011

Dumping Bin Laden into the sea was a premature disposal of evidence, but you probably know that by now.

It is also NOT “traditional” in Islam to bury a body at sea.

What is interesting is that the U.B.L. raid was watched by so many in “real time”; Obama, Gates, Biden, Mullen Clinton and many others.

So why did it take almost 2 full days to clarify that he was not armed, and why did that story gain so much traction? The official blundering that is happening right now is reminiscent of the Bush era.

From CNN:

U.S. officials issued a revised version of the nighttime raid that killed the world’s most-notorious terrorist, including additional details that revealed other options were on the table before settling on the assault.

The 40-minute raid early Monday in Pakistan left Osama bin Laden dead, along with four others in the complex that sits on a mountainous region near the capital.

Bin Laden was not armed during the raid, but he put up resistance when U.S. forces entered the compound, the White House said. Officials had earlier said that bin Laden was an active participant in the firefight, implying that he was armed and gave the U.S. Navy SEALs little choice but to shoot him down.

U.B.L. Burial at Sea NOT Typical Islamic Tradition

U.S. officials have said that Usama Bin Laden’s burial at sea was Islamic Tradition if land could not be found.

An ABC article entitled, “Osama Bin Laden Sea Burial Video May Be Released” contains some important discussion on the subject of burial at sea and Islamic tradition.

Obama Ends Miranda Rights for Americans

March 24, 2011

Other headlines will read “Obama ends Miranda rights for American terrorists”, but I will not let such naive and ignorant headlines headline at this blog. – Brian

source: Raw Story   Mar 24, 2011

The Obama administration has created a new policy that allows investigators to waive Miranda warnings for domestic-terror suspects, even when there is not an “immediate threat,” a report said Thursday.

The rule was revealed by an FBI memorandum obtained by The Wall Street Journal. It says that in “exceptional cases,” investigators can hold suspects without informing them of their rights.

The policy applies where investigators “conclude that continued unwarned interrogation is necessary to collect valuable and timely intelligence not related to any immediate threat.”

Breaking: March 19, 2011 Obama Attacks Libya Exactly 8 Years to the Day After Bush Invaded Iraq

March 19, 2011

Nor Cal Truth    Mar 19, 2011

This is via CNN:

I can hardly contain my frustration right now reading the breaking headline:

The U.S. military has launched a missile attack against Libya’s air defenses.

A senior U.S. military official says the strike was aimed at sites along the Libyan coast. The missiles were launched from U.S. Navy vessels in the Mediterranean.

Another article from the AP states this:

The Pentagon said it fired 110 cruise missiles at 20 targets.

8 years ago today, Bush announced the expansion of the mis-directed war of terror:

This should be seens as quite a slap in the face to all of those who voted for Obama in hopes of stopping or slowing the war expansion; many of those people are marching in the streets today.

I sure do HOPE that people have taken the Obama stickers of their cars by now.

9/11 Victims’ Families Still Waiting for Justice Two Years After Obama’s Promise

March 1, 2011

The title is misleading because 9/11 victims family members have really been waiting and acting for justice for almost 10 years now.

The families featured in this article by FOX news are not the same 9/11 families that are involved in the Building What campaign nor are these the 9/11 families that signed the Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth petition - but they are 9/11 victims family members waiting for justice none-the-less.

Debra Burlingame is the sister of Cap. Charles Burlingame who was piloting the plane that was crashed into the Pentagon. Read more about him here.

source: FOX    Mar 1, 2011

Two years ago this month, President Obama met with the families of Sept. 11 victims and other victims of terrorism at a special meeting in Washington, D.C., and promised “swift and certain justice” for the perpetrators. But the high expectations of that meeting have given way to frustration for many who met with Obama.

“One of the first things he told us was that we were the conscience of the country and he wanted to give us swift and certain justice,” Debra Burlingame, whose brother, Charles, was the pilot on Flight 77 on 9/11, told Fox News. She was one of about 30 people at the meeting.

That same phrase “swift and certain justice” was used by the White House in its own press release after the meeting.

But with no timetable for a trial for those charged with being behind the attacks, Hamilton Peterson, who lost his father and stepmother on 9/11, says the families feel betrayed.

Unfortunately, I would say, at a minimum, we were misled, ” Peterson said.
