The failure to rebuild the World Trade Center site in Manhattan has received endless attention, but public anger about this failed reconstruction should not been seen as negatively as it is. After all, mental reconstruction also has not been successful and is surely more needed, with too many Americans still accepting the official government story about 9/11. This, despite a huge amount of compelling evidence that elements of the US government played some role, despite a very large, active 9/11 truth movement, and despite an impressive number of highly credible people demanding a new investigation, as documented at patriotsquestion911.com.
In the recent Angus Reid Public Opinion survey of a representative national sample of American adults, 62 per cent of respondents disagree with the view that the “Sept. 11 incident was a big fabrication as a pretext for the campaign against terrorism and a prelude for staging an invasion against Afghanistan.” But 26 per cent of respondents agree with this notion, with a far more impressive 45 percent of Democrats and 34 percent of Independents agreeing, versus 20 percent of Republicans. And 12 per cent are undecided.
In sum, about 100 million Americans seem to question or find fault with the official story, far from a trivial number and far too many to dismiss as conspiracy nuts and part of the lunatic fringe. That the mainstream media refuses to acknowledge this kind of public sentiment reflects on their lack of courage to face the truth. This behavior does nothing to improve American democracy.

A common sense test: You’re dispatched to a house fire in a 2 story with
a basement. Upon arrival, all 3 floors are well involved. After the fire
has been extinguished, the neighbor across the street tells you he saw
flashes on all 3 floors within seconds of each other. It turns out the
owner has arson convictions on his record. You smell gasoline. Now, should
you test the debris for accelerants? No matter what the owner and his
friends tell you, wouldn’t you still test it? It’s a
“NO-Brainer”…isn’t it?

Senior Bush administration officials sternly cautioned the 9/11 Commission against probing too deeply into the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, according to a document recently obtained by the ACLU.
The notification came in a letter dated January 6, 2004, addressed by Attorney General John Ashcroft, Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld and CIA Director George J. Tenet. The ACLU described it as a fax sent by David Addington, then-counsel to former vice president Dick Cheney.
In the message, the officials denied the bipartisan commission’s request to question terrorist detainees, informing its two senior-most members that doing so would “cross” a “line” and obstruct the administration’s ability to protect the nation.
“In response to the Commission’s expansive requests for access to secrets, the executive branch has provided such access in full cooperation,” the letter read. “There is, however, a line that the Commission should not cross — the line separating the Commission’s proper inquiry into the September 11, 2001 attacks from interference with the Government’s ability to safeguard the national security, including protection of Americans from future terrorist attacks.”

During a round-table discussion at the French Senate January 29, 2010, on the topic of “Where are we at with Al Qaeda?”, Alain Chouet — former head of the Security Intelligence Service of the DGSE (Directorate-General for External Security: the French equivalent of the CIA or MI6) — demystified the concept of “Al Qaeda” and denounced the inappropriate responses and other instrumentalizations by the West, without however deflating the dangers of Islamic extremism.
The video below has been subtitled into English and edited to include the best parts of Alain Chouet’s passionate discourse containing no stonewalling or political doublespeak, placing itself light-years ahead of the official discourse about September 11th and “the nebulous Al Qaeda” that the mainstream media have been reporting for far too long.
Would you like to know what the French “spies” think of Al Qaeda? Hold-on tight, the masks are about to fall. Alain Chouet’s stance, which no one would dare qualify as conspiratorial, is in no way different than the information the French Association ReOpen911 modestly (but tenaciously) reports via our site.
Those who understand French can also view Alain Chouet’s entire 22 minute discourse, read the entire transcript of the video and read his article La guerre d’Afghanistan en question (The Afghanistan War in Question) on our news website.

Abstract
In the past year, in response to emerging independent science on the 9/11 attacks, nine corporate, seven public, and two independent media outlets aired analytic programs investigating the official account.
Increasingly, the issue is treated as a scientific controversy worthy of debate, rather than as a “conspiracy theory” ignoring science and common sense.
This essay presents these media analyses in the form of 18 case studies.
Eight countries – Britain , Canada , Denmark , France , the Netherlands , New Zealand , Norway and Russia – have allowed their publicly-owned broadcasting stations to air the full spectrum of evidence challenging the truth of the official account of 9/11.
This more open approach taken in the international media – I could also have included the Japanese media – might be a sign that worldwide public and corporate media organizations are positioning themselves, and preparing their audiences, for a possible revelation of the truth of the claim that forces within the US government were complicit in the attacks – a revelation that would call into question the publicly given rationale for the military operations in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Pakistan.

Whistle-blower: Dr Kelly died after casting doubt on Government claims about Saddam’s weapons
source: Daily Mail
Medical records which would shed light on the death of government scientist David Kelly will be kept secret for 70 years, it emerged yesterday.
The unprecedented move has been ordered by Lord Hutton, who chaired the inquiry which controversially concluded that the mysterious death was suicide.
It means vital evidence, including the results of Dr Kelly’s post-mortem examination - which have never been made public - will remain under wraps until 2073, by which time anyone involved in the case will almost certainly be dead.
The body of 59-year- old UN weapons inspector Dr Kelly was found in July 2003 in woods near his Oxfordshire home. Days earlier he had been revealed as the source of a BBC story claiming evidence against Iraq had been ‘sexed up’ to justify invasion.

WASHINGTON — The FBI says it uses “cutting-edge” technologies to develop age-processed photos of suspected terrorists. As it turns out, the technique they used to come up with Osama bin Laden’s modern portrait was essentially to digitally alter a Spanish lawmaker’s mug shot and paste a beard and turban onto it.
The image was published on the State Department’s “Rewards for Justice Program” Web site last week, offering a reward of $25 million to whoever captures the Al-Qaeda chief.
The FBI has admitted to its transgression and US Ambassador to Spain, Alan Solomont, personally apologized to Gaspar Llamazares of the nation’s United Left party. But the lawmaker isn’t having any of it.
“Apologies are not enough,” he told reporters, and has suggested he might take legal action against the US government as he now feels unsafe traveling to the country.
When you spend your entire life lying, it’s hard to remember what really is true! The last 8 years since 9/11, Guliani has tried to write his own history, and future; maybe now we will see the end of his attempts, and the beginning of a criminal prosecution. If for nothing else, at least the radio’s on 9/11…
His moment of glory comes around 3:20…

The former New York City mayor who has sometimes been mocked for using “a noun, a verb and 9/11″ in stump speeches appears to have forgotten — or has mentally reclassified — the worst terrorist attack on American soil. “We had no domestic attacks under Bush,” Rudy Giuliani told ABC’s George Stephanopoulos Friday.
Even if Giuliani doesn’t consider the attacks on 9/11 a “domestic” attack then surely he forgot about the anthrax attacks of 2001 or an Egyptian national who attacked the El Al ticket counter at Los Angeles International Airport in 2002.
While ABC’s George Stephanopolous let Giuliani get away with his misstatement both during the interview and on his blog, ABC’s Jake Tapper called the former mayor out. “Giuliani’s comments that there were zero terrorist attacks under Bush, 1 under Obama, is false no matter how you slice it,” tweeted Tapper.

As AFP notes:
A BBC investigation has cast doubt on key evidence in the case against the Libyan convicted of blowing up a US jet over the Scottish town of Lockerbie in 1988, the broadcaster said Wednesday.
A tiny fragment of the timer allegedly used to blow up Pan Am flight 103 — crucial in linking Abdelbaset Ali Mohmet al-Megrahi to the bomb — was not properly tested and was also unlikely to have survived the explosion, it said…
According to the BBC’s Newsnight programme, the fragment of the timer — found embedded in a charred piece of clothing three weeks after the bombing — was never tested to confirm if it had actually been in a blast.
Anyone who’s watched a tv detective show knows that crooked police officers sometimes plant false evidence in order to frame an innocent person for the crime (and see this video).
Or police sometimes plant false evidence to convict someone who really is a criminal, just to strengthen the case.
In that light, remember that Seymour Hersh – the Pulitzer prize-winning reporter who uncovered the Iraq prison torture scandal and the My Lai massacre in Vietnam – wrote:

As a WASHINGTON — Rebuffed this month by skeptical lawmakers when it sought finances to buy a prison in rural Illinois, the Obama administration is struggling to come up with the money to replace the Guantánamo Bay prison.result, officials now believe that they are unlikely to close the prison at Guantánamo Bay, Cuba, and transfer its population of terrorism suspects until 2011 at the earliest — a far slower timeline for achieving one of President Obama’s signature national security policies than they had previously hinted.
While Mr. Obama has acknowledged that he would miss the Jan. 22 deadline for closing the prison that he set shortly after taking office, the administration appeared to take a major step forward last week when he directed subordinates to move “as expeditiously as possible” to acquire the Thomson Correctional Center, a nearly vacant maximum-security Illinois prison, and to retrofit it to receive Guantánamo detainees.
