Body of Evidence: Osama bin Laden, Stratfor, WikiLeaks, and Journalism That Isn’t

March 19, 2012

“An increasing number of websites and purported news entities thrive by putting out information that is exciting, shocking, controversial—and often wrong.”  – Russ Baker

by Russ Baker   source: Who What Why    Mar 19, 2012

Perhaps you read or heard the brief flurry of excited reports: an intelligence expert was saying that, contrary to what the Obama White House told us, Osama bin Laden’s body was not hastily thrown into the ocean last May, but instead was secretly flown by a CIA plane to the US, where it underwent forensic examination.

For those of us who see plenty of holes and inconsistencies in the official government account of the Navy SEAL raid last May that purportedly bagged bin Laden, the new reports were tantalizing.

Former Bush Official Promises to Testify if Someone will ‘Pinochet’ Cheney

September 1, 2011

Colonel Lawrence Wilkerson: If someone will ‘Pinochet’ Cheney, I’ll testify

source: Raw Story   Sep 1, 2011

The former chief of staff to Secretary of State Colin Powell pledged Tuesday to testify against former Vice President Dick Cheney if he is ever tried for war crimes.

Col. Lawrence Wilkerson told Democracy Now‘s Amy Goodman that he would participate in a trial even if it meant personal repercussions.

“I, unfortunately — and I’ve admitted to this a number of times, publicly and privately — was the person who put together Colin Powell’s presentation at the United Nations Security Council on 5 February, 2003,” Wilkerson said. “It was probably the biggest mistake of my life. I regret it to this day. I regret not having resigned over it.”

In an interview that aired on NBC Monday, Cheney told Jamie Gangel that unlike President George W. Bush, he did not have a “sickening feeling” when they discovered there were no weapons of mass destruction after the invasion of Iraq.

“I think we did the right thing,” Cheney said.

Joining Wilkerson and Goodman to discuss Cheney’s new book “In My Time,” Salon’s Glenn Greenwald said that it was disturbing to see the former vice president treated simply as an “elder statesman.”

“The evidence is overwhelming… that Dick Cheney is not just a political figure with controversial views, but is an actual criminal, that he was centrally involved in a whole variety not just of war crimes in Iraq, but of domestic crimes, as well, including the authorization of warrantless eavesdropping on American citizens in violation of FISA, which says that you go to jail for five years for each offense, as well as the authorization and implementation of a worldwide torture regime that, according to General Barry McCaffrey, resulted in the murder — his word — of dozens of detainees, far beyond just the three or four cases of waterboarding that media figures typically ask Cheney about,” Greenwald explained.

“And as a result, Dick Cheney goes around the country profiting off of this, you know, sleazy, sensationalistic, self-serving book, basically profiting from his crimes, and at the same time normalizing the idea that these kind of policies, though maybe in the view of some wrongheaded, are perfectly legitimate political choices to make. And I think that’s the really damaging legacy from all of this.”

“Colonel Wilkerson, do you think the Bush administration officials should be held accountable in the way that Glenn Greenwald is talking about?” Goodman asked.

“I certainly do,” Wilkerson replied. “And I’d be willing to testify, and I’d be willing to take any punishment I’m due. And I have to say, I agree with almost everything [Greenwald] just said. And I think that explains the aggressiveness, to a large extent, of the Cheney attack and of the words like ‘exploding heads all over Washington.’ This is a book written out of fear, fear that one day someone will ‘Pinochet’ Dick Cheney.”

Wilkerson was referring to former Chilean dictator Augusto Pinochet, who was arrested in London in 1998 after being indicted for crimes against humanity. It was the first time the principle of universal jurisdiction had been applied to a former foreign head of state.

Sibel Edmonds Asks Intel Experts About the Ever-Changing bin Laden Death Script

May 11, 2011

I have condensed this post by Sibel Edmonds. Please visit her site to read the entire article, including her explanations for “experts”, and “government sources.”  – Brian @ Nor Cal

by Sibel Edmonds  source: Boiling Frogs Post    May 11, 2011

Last weekend Boiling Frogs Post contacted several independent sources and experts, and asked them for their straight-forward take on the absurdity-filled and ever-changing Bin Laden Death story. I say independent, because they are. As you’ll see these veterans and sources come from all different walks of Intelligence-Law Enforcement-Military, and as far as political orientation goes, they fall into every single category-liberal, conservative, libertarian and none. I want to thank them all for honoring the request given to them on extremely short notice, and for being honest, direct, commonsensical, and in some cases realistically humorous. Here is what they had to say, and say it briefly per my request, starting with my favorite investigative reporter and bestselling author, whom I respect tremendously and consider ‘truly independent,’ James Bamford:

bamfordI don’t know what happened, but here’s what I suspect.  The White House press office was horrified.  The image of an unarmed Bin Laden killed in his PJs, and his unarmed wife shot as she was trying to protect him, was too bland for prime time TV.  So after consulting with the “perception managers” at The Rendon Group, they quickly called together a team of experts for a conference in the Roosevelt Room to come up with a better narrative.

Among those present was Nurse Nayirah, daughter of the former Kuwaiti ambassador to the U.S., accompanied by several PR representatives from Hill & Knowlton.  It was her false claim that she had witnessed Iraqi soldiers take babies out of incubators in Kuwait and leave them on the floor to die, a lie propagandized around the world by H&K, that helped push the U.S. into the first Gulf War.  Sitting next to her was Ahmed Chalabi, the man whose deceptions about Saddam and his WMD, heavily promoted by the New York Times, helped lead the country to war with Iraq.  Then there was Jim Wilkinson, the Bush master propagandist who needed to find a way to get the country behind the war.  He thus fed the story to the media of how Pvt. Jessica Lynch fearlessly mowed down Fedayeen terrorists with her M16 until she ran out of ammo, whereupon she was shot, stabbed, captured, tortured and raped.  Unfortunately, through no fault of Lynch, it was later discovered to be totally made up. Finally, there was General Stanley McCrystal, largely responsible for promoting the fact that football star and Army private Pat Tillman was killed in a heroic battle in Afghanistan when in reality he was accidentally shot by his own men.  The false story was then ballyhooed by the press and used by the Army as a major recruiting tool for the Afghan War.

After a few hours going around the table for ideas, the White House press people finally had their story.  With one hand wrapped around his wife as a shield, Bin Laden used the other in a desperate effort to fight off capture by firing wildly at the commandos with an AK-47, but was finally taken down with a bullet right between his eyes.

James Bamford- One of the country’s leading writers on intelligence and national security issues.

giraldiIf you factor in growth in government and the actual costs of the military and intelligence effort that finally succeeded in killing Osama bin Laden after fifteen years of trying, the renowned terrorist becomes the $3 trillion dollar man.  Considering that he has not personally directed a successful terrorist operation since 9/11 that is quite impressive, somewhat like winning a lifetime achievement Oscar at the Academy Awards ceremony.  And even 9/11 is by no means a slam-dunk for Osama as the Justice Department never charged him with that particular crime because they knew they did not have enough evidence to convince a jury.  So his story ends, shot down in Pakistan while resisting or possibly surrendering, with his wife and son or alone, in a lavish mansion or a shack, as a result of a great spy operation or maybe not, and with the President of the United States personally directing the operation or possibly just sitting in for a photo-op.  Requiescat in Pace Osama.

Bin Had

May 7, 2011

source: Washingtons Blog    May 7, 2011

Preface: You can either dismiss all of the allegations in the first part of this post as nutty conspiracy theories, or decide that they are real and that I am using parody. Your choice. Either way, it is clear that we’ve been had …

Forget that Bin Laden likely received CIA training and support in fighting against the Russians in Afghanistan. See this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this and this.

Forget the allegations by France’s oldest and second-largest newspaper that a CIA agent met with Bin Laden two months before 9/11, and the claim by a former FBI translator that Bin Laden worked with the CIA right up until 9/11.

Forget that 9/11 was entirely foreseeable, and that government more or less heard the 9/11 hijackers’ plans from their own mouths.

Forget that Dick Cheney was in charge of all counter-terrorism exercises, activities and responses on 9/11 (see this Department of State announcement, this Department of State announcement, this CNN article and this essay), and that:

Forget that governments from around the world admit that they carry out false flag terrorism to justify their political goals.

Finally, forget that the U.S. could easily have captured Bin Laden in 2001 or 2007, but chose not to do so.

Bin Had

Ignoring the above, it is still obvious that we’ve been had.

Specifically, only 5 hours after the 9/11 attacks, Donald Rumsfeld said “my interest is to hit Saddam”. He also said “Go massive . . . Sweep it all up. Things related and not.”

Interactive 9/11 Memorial is Junk: Uses WTC# 5 Photograph as WTC# 7 and Claims Raging Fire

February 24, 2011

Brian Romanoff    Nor Cal Truth  Feb 24, 2011

In preparation for the 10th year anniversary of the 9/11 murders, the 9/11 Memorial has put up an online interactive 9/11 timeline. It hasn’t been up more than 24 hours.

I have not had much time to review it, but sure enough I noticed a major fault right away!

The timeline mentions the WTC# 7 “collapse” at 5:20pm and if you click on the images available for that time, you will see 3 pictures - one of them being the one shown below.

The 9/11 Memorial Interactive Timeline that was just put online says that this is a raging fire in WTC 7, however it looks a lot like WTC #5

Lets look at an undisputed picture and video of WTC# 5:

WTC# 5 After the Fires

Notice the vertical beams and arched windows in the pictures and video of WTC# 5?

Those types of beams and arches are NOT present in WTC# 7 by any means:

The 9/11 Memorial Timeline obviously is a joke for anyone interested in truth. There were no massive fires at WTC#7 and the fires that were alive were not enough to bring any building down in the manner that WTC#7 came down; it was a controlled demolition!

Worse than a joke, this memorial is peddling lies as history.

For a complete timeline that spans more than just the day of 9/11, please visit the Complete 9/11 Timeline.

W.Va. Sen Candidate Questions 9/11 Account

October 14, 2010

source: AP      Oct 14, 2010

A third party candidate in West Virginia’s U.S. Senate race questions whether the Sept. 11 attacks were masterminded by Osama bin Laden and carried out by al-Qaida terrorists.

Mountain Party nominee Jesse Johnson told The Associated Press that he is also not convinced that hijacked airliners caused the collapse of buildings at the World Trade Center.

Calling 9/11 a crime of the century, Johnson said it has never been investigated. He discounts the work of the bipartisan commission that issued a 585-page report on the attacks in 2004.

We Need to Continue to Seek the Truth About 9/11

August 8, 2010

We need to continue to seek the truth about 9/11

by Kevin Ryan   source: Bloomington Herald Times  (via Visibility 9/11)  August 8, 2010

This guest column is by Kevin Ryan, a member of the 9/11 Working Group of Bloomington.

Over the past three years, a group of concerned Bloomington citizens has worked to raise the public consciousness about the need for 9/11 truth. These folks are sometimes called “conspiracy theorists” because they do not believe the official version of events. Once people get by their initial reactions to 9/11 questioning, however, much can be learned in the process.

To begin with, we all understand the definition of a conspiracy to be a secret plan, among two or more people, to commit a crime. Yet when faced with emotionally charged events like 9/11, many of us pretend that the definition of the word has changed.

Journalists & Other Media Professionals for 9/11 Truth

May 18, 2010

Mike Casner, who commented on this blog recently, sent me a link to an organization and website that I was previously unfamiliar with. The Media for 9/11 Truth group is alive, and after viewing its signatures, I am thrilled to see it is already supported by many others in the media.

P.S. Mike – Do you have a banner that I can put here on the website?

May 18, 2010

Please Visit: Journalists and Other Media Professionals for 9/11 Truth.

Here is a little about the group:

The Mission Statement

Journalists and Other Media Professionals for 9/11 Truth (JOMP911T) is an international organization of journalists and other media professionals who have, unlike the mainstream (corporate) media, been reporting information that challenges the official account of 9/11.

We seek an independent investigation, unfettered by political constraints, which has full subpoena powers and examines all of the evidence relevant to determining what happened on 9/11. To date, virtually all of the evidence that conflicts with the official account has been ignored by the mass media.

Satire: Let’s Rejoice in Terror’s Benefits!

May 13, 2010

by John Kirby   source: Projo    May 13, 2010

On May 6, The New York Post ran the following story on its front page: “THANKS, FAISAL! Inept terror thug saves 900 cop jobs”

“That’s how many cops were going to be cut before Faisal’s botched bid at Times Square terror. His effort prompted the city to restore $55 million to the NYPD, saving those jobs and making New York a safer place.”

Though The Post didn’t mention it, Faisal wasn’t able to save 6,700 teaching jobs, 75 senior centers, 20 fire companies, nurses in elementary schools, and an unknown number of day-care centers and other programs for children, due to be cut by Mayor Bloomberg this year.

But this still seems like a good time to pause and reflect on all the blessings we have received from Terror and the war thereon.

Here is the short list of “thank you’s” I’d like to see from other terror beneficiaries who have plenty of reason to be grateful:

Into The Fire: 9/11, & The Unknown War for Public Opinion

May 3, 2010

by Truth Excavator   source: Fire Dog Lake   May 3, 2010

Credo quia absurdum

Contrary to propaganda opinion, the West is not free. Our so-called democratic governments have not been honest with the people about the true origins of the government-made crisis that is called terrorism. And I am not coming from an anti-government perspective. Nor do I believe that non-state terrorism doesn’t exist. It does, but it must be put into context, and any terrorist threat must be handled with detective tools rather than predator drones. But the larger threat to human civilization that we must face and fight against is state terrorism.

I assume that very few people who work in the US government are aware of this. A lot of high-level individuals in Western governments sincerely believe in the official story of 9/11 that was given by the Bush administration, and then repeated by the major media. And these individuals are most likely honorable citizens, who are committed to combating the “terrorism” threat as they know it. But what they know is not true. They have to be the most brainwashed citizens in our societies, or else a government such as the criminal one in the United States can not operate for long. Also, their line of work requires that they submit to institutional pressures and not question their bosses.

9/11 Myths Exposed: Firefighters, Architects and Engineers Re-investigate the Destruction of the Three World Trade Center Skyscrapers

On September 11th, 2001 the greatest destruction and loss of life associated with the terrorist attacks took place in New York City.  After almost nine years and numerous government investigations, many public misconceptions persist about the events of that tragic day, especially regarding the unprecedented destruction of the World Trade Center in Lower Manhattan.

During this live multimedia presentation Seattle firefighter Erik Lawyer and SF Bay Area architect Richard Gage, AIA, will examine the myths surrounding the events at the World Trade Center.  Using well-documented forensic evidence, news footage and eyewitness accounts, they seek to correct the public record.  Some of the myths they will address:

  • Only two towers collapsed that day
  • Jet fuel fires melted the structural steel
  • The fires were hot enough to weaken the structural steel
  • The floors of each building collapsed like “pancakes”
  • The government investigations were thorough, complete and followed standard fire investigation procedures
  • The government investigators tested for evidence of exotic accelerants and/or explosives
  • The third building to collapse completely, WTC 7, suffered significant structural damage from the collapse of the Twin Towers

The presentation will provide a factual rebuttal of these and other myths regarding the destruction of the World Trade Center.

David Ray Griffin to Speak at the Harvard Epworth Church on May 8

April 20, 2010

source: 9/11 Blogger   April 20, 2010

David Ray Griffin will be presenting his most recent lecture, “Is the War in Afghanistan Justified by 9/11?” at the Harvard Epworth Methodist Church at 1555 Mass. Ave., Harvard Square, Cambridge at 7pm on Saturday May 8.

This will be his second visit to the Boston area in as many years. Last year, Dr. Griffin spoke to an audience of 400 people at Boston University, nearly half of which were hearing the 9/11 truth message for the first time. The church where Griffin will be speaking this year is adjacent to the Harvard Law School, home of Cass Sunstein and Adrian Vermeule, authors of the “Conspiracy Theories” paper that was recently uncovered.

WikiLeaks Video – The Greater Horror

April 18, 2010
by Michael Collins  source: Agonist   April 18, 2010

There they are, the people who brought you every bit of the action in the WikiLeaks video and all of the other horrors flowing from invasion of Iraq. Madeleine Albright (far right, above), former Clinton Secretary of State, is a good place to start. From 60 Minutes:

Lesley Stahl on U.S. sanctions against Iraq: “We have heard that a half million children have died. I mean, that’s more children than died in Hiroshima. And, you know, is the price worth it?”

Secretary of State Madeleine Albright: I think this is a very hard choice, but the price–we think the price is worth it. –60 Minutes (5/12/96)

An exhaustive study found that 227,000 children under five (table 13) died during the George H.W. Bush – Bill Clinton regime of total sanctions against Iraq from 1990 through 2000.

KSM + Military Tribunal = 9/11 Cover-Up?

April 15, 2010

by: Robert Bridge   source: RT    April 15, 2010

US Republicans, in an effort to avoid a public civilian trial for Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the alleged 9/11 mastermind, are turning up the heat on Attorney General Eric Holder. Why?

First, for those who need a primer on their “War on Terror” ancient history, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed is “the principal architect of the 9/11 attacks,” according to the 9/11 Commission Report sanctioned by the Bush administration.

Mohammed, accused of orchestrating a number of high-profile attacks, including the grisly decapitation murder of Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl, was charged in February 2008 with war crimes by a US military tribunal and will be summarily executed if found guilty. But there is just one problem with all of this: not even the CIA is unanimous in the belief that KSM is their man.

Robert Baer, a former CIA field officer assigned to the Middle East, and the author of “See No Evil”, told Time magazine back in 2007 that “the Administration [of George W. Bush] is trying to blame KSM for Al-Qaeda terrorism, leading us to believe we’ve caught the master terrorist and that Al-Qaeda, and especially the ever-elusive bin Laden, is no longer a threat to the US.”

Baer went on to say that “there is a major flaw in that marketing strategy.”

“On the face of it, KSM – as he is known inside the government – comes across as boasting, at times mentally unstable. It’s also clear he is making things up. I’m told by people involved in the investigation that KSM was present during Wall Street Journal correspondent Danny Pearl’s execution but was in fact not the person who killed him,” Baer writes.
