9/11 Panel Considers Cancer Coverage Under Zadroga Act

February 18, 2012

source: Huffington Post   Feb 18, 2012

An advisory panel examining which conditions should be covered by the Zadroga Act appeared close Wednesday to recommending that some cancers be included, members said.

The 15-member panel, which was set up by Congress, is tasked with reviewing changing scientific and medical evidence and making recommendations about which conditions should be covered under the James Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Act’s $2.8 billion Victim Compensation Fund.

While the fund covers numerous illnesses linked with breathing 9/11 toxins, cancer is currently excluded because of insufficient scientific proof — a decision criticized by first responders and city officials who believe the link is crystal clear.

Evidence that there is a cancer link appears to be mounting.

Were Severe Personal Injuries Such As Cancer Caused By 9/11?

October 17, 2011

related film: Dust to Dust – The Health Effects of 9/11

by  Ira M Maurer    source: Maurer Law Firm Blog     Oct 17, 2011

In July of 2011, federal health officials basically stated there is little or no scientific evidence of a link between cancer and the contaminants police, firefighters and other first responders were exposed to at the World Trade Center site of the September 11, 2001 attacks in New York. As a result, the Victim Compensation Fund has been denying claims for medical costs for treatment of severe personal injuries such as cancer.

It is hardly surprising that federal officials refuse to acknowledge the obvious connection. In fact, I recall when former New Jersey Governer/former head of the Environmental Protection Agency, Christine Todd Whitman came out shortly after 9/11 and stated in substance that the air “was safe to breathe” at the 9/11 site. In 2007, in an appearance before Congress, Whitman reportedly defended her record and refused to express regret for assuring residents and workers the air around Lower Manhattan was safe. She also reportedly denied her remarks were made as a result of political pressure from the Bush White House. However, Whitman reportedly “admitted she had not read the clinical reports from the Mount Sinai Medical Center’s World Trade Center Worker and Volunteer Medical Screening Program. A Mount Sinai study last year found seventy percent of around ten thousand Ground Zero workers developed new or worsened respiratory problems” (http://www.democracynow.org/).

A federal law, the James Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Act, enacted by Congress last year, provides health care, medical monitoring, and financial compensation for emergency response, recovery, and cleanup workers at Ground Zero who subsequently developed certain conditions, including respiratory illnesses, mental health disorders, and injuries caused by heavy lifting and repetitive stress. But the act excludes individuals who are diagnosed with cancer. Instead, it instructs the World Trade Center Health Program administrator to periodically review scientific and medical evidence to determine whether to add cancer to the list of covered conditions.

Thermite Has Been Used for Building Demolitions and Popular Mechanics Covered it in 1935

August 31, 2011

There are obvious differences in what is presented below and what most likely happened to WTC 1, 2, and 7 on 9/11; but thermite has been around for a while.

Skyride Tower Felled by Melting Steel Legs

Intense heat was employed by wrecking engineers in toppling the 3,000,000-pound east tower of the “Skyride,” a major attraction of Chicago’s Century of Progress. Huge “overshoes” in the form of cupolas made of steel and lined with firebrick were constructed around two legs of the tower and filled with 1,500 pounds of thermite, a mixture of aluminum and iron oxide. When fired by electricity the thermite generated a temperature of more than 5,000 degrees about the two legs, melting the ten-foot sections almost instantly, causing the tower to tip and then to crash. A microphone attached to the tip of the tower broadcast the noise of the fall by radio, and the spectacle was viewed by a crowd estimated at more than 100,000. The west tower had been wrecked several weeks earlier with dynamite. The 628-foot twin towers, the cables which supported the cars passing between them and the elevators cost more than $1,750,000 to erect.

Experiments with Nano-Thermite by Kevin Ryan

In this recently uploaded video by Kevin Ryan:

Scientific evidence for thermitic materials at the World Trade Center is discussed, and an experiment in production and ignition of nanothermite is performed.

Jonathan Cole made a video a while back that displayed thermite’s destructive potential specifically to steel. By directing and concentrating the direction of the combustion, he was able to cut through steel with some ease.

Sept. 11 Workers Agree to Settle Health Lawsuits

After a wrenching seven-year battle, more than 10,000 workers who sued New York City over health damages they claimed after the 9/11 recovery efforts have approved a settlement, clearing the way for payouts totaling at least $625 million, lawyers said Friday.

Their responses, delivered to a federal judge in Manhattan, ended months of wrangling over whether the city and its contractors were shortchanging the workers for the respiratory and other illnesses they developed after toiling in the smoldering ruins of the World Trade Center.

Two 9/11 First Responders Die of Cancer Within one Week of Court Settlement

Nor Cal Truth  Nov 21, 2010

This article from NY Daily News details the passing of another NYPD officer due to  9/11 related health effects:

The sacrifice of a cancer-stricken city cop laid to rest Tuesday was held aloft by union leaders in the push to aid ill Ground Zero responders.

“He died from a rare cancer that literally ate his face,” Lynch said, flanked by other officers. “The young man that joined this police department withered away and died because he was willing to put his life on the line and respond on Sept. 11 – and not leave until our job was done.”

Lynch was supposed to be in Washington with other members of the New York delegation to press for passage of a bill that would help the families of injured Ground Zero heroes like Mahmoud.

Mahmoud died after contracting a rare cancer of the nasal passages that required disfiguring surgery to remove his nose.

“It is very difficult for us,” his brother, Hashem, said. “But David isn’t the only one. There are others like him and they should be looked up to.”

The following article from Newsday is from just after the court settlement:

Robert Ehmer of East Meadow had planned to use his share of the settlement for Ground Zero rescue and recovery workers to pay for treatment that his Medicare insurance wouldn’t cover, his sister Annette Ehmer said.

Ehmer, a 20-year New York City police officer, lost a three-year battle with kidney cancer Sunday, dying at the Hospice Inn in Melville. He was 47.

Be Careful Denzel – That Ground Zero Dust is Explosive!

November 12, 2010

Nor Cal Truth    Nov 12, 2o10

In a recent interview published by The Daily Mail in the U.K., the Oscar-winning actor Denzel Washington spoke briefly about his time in New York around 9/11/01:

“I’m from New York, I was at Ground Zero and it changed my life. I’m a native New Yorker to the day I die. I had to be there. I was stunned. I was as close as I am to you now looking down in the hole days after it happened. For everyone involved it was traumatic. I saw people just sitting there exhausted because the guys had worked two or three days straight.”

The New York Daily just ran a story announcing close to 1,000 9/11 first responder deaths: These deaths are attributed to the lies of the EPA, the director at the time  Christine Todd Whitman, and the White Houses’ CEQ which was altering the EPA press releases and effctively downplaying the threat of harmful airborne chemicals so Wall St. could re-open.  It is notable that Denzel noticed a problem as so many others did as well. In the interview, Denzel remembers this:

“In fact, the guy who was walking me around had lost his voice just from tension and from the dust.”

And then Denzel mentions that he collected some dust in a bag and still has it:

“I remember I collected up some of the dust and put it in a little bag. I took it home. I still have it.”

That dust collected from Ground Zero should be handled with care! Remember that the dust was studied and put through scientific study in search of explosive residues. Many things were found in the dust, including unignited portions of what is recognized as thermite! This is from 9/11 Research:

9/11 Health Bill Slated To Hit House Floor Today (Wednesday)

September 29, 2010

souerce: NY Observer   July 29, 2010

The office of Congressman Jerrold Nadler emails to say that the James Zadroga 9/11  Health and Compensation Act, which would provide health care to first 9/11 first responders and provide economic help to those hurt in the attacks, is expected to receive an up-or-down vote on the House floor tomorrow today.

In July, the bill failed, but was then operating under a requirement that it achieve 2/3rds vote, a parliamentary move by Democrats to keep the Republican minority from adding amendments. This time, the bill is expected to pass, even if Republicans add so-called “poison pill” amendments. The money—to the tune of $5 billion—has already been appropriated, and would cover 50,000 first responders and survivors of the attacks.

President Obama has indicated that he will sign the bill.

Nine Years After 9/11, 900 Responders Are Dead

September 20, 2010

source: RT   Sep 20, 2010

Nine hundred 9/11 heroes have died since the 2001 terrorist attacks. Thousands of others are suffering from various cancers believed to have been caused by toxins at Ground Zero. The US federal government has failed, thus far, to pass 9/11 health legislation that would assist 9/11 responders with medical care.

A Danish Scientist Breaks the Culture of Silence

Many don’t know about tower 7, it collapsed in 6.5 seconds. It’s routine to look for thermite after fire, FBI didn’t.

source: Veterans Today   July 28, 2010

World trade center collapse is masterpiece demolition.

“It was the best of times, it was the worst of times; it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness; it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity; it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness; it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair; we had everything before us, we had nothing before us; we were all going directly to Heaven, we were all going the other way.” - Charles DickensA Tale of two cities.

…. on the morning of September 11, 2001, a great tragedy befell the city of new York, millions around the world watched- live- on their TV screens the tragic collapse of the world trade center twin towers in new York, and almost nine years has passed away, but still something seems amiss, we still feel as if we haven’t seen the end of this, as if we haven’t watched the true story yet.

We stand confused, divided by two stories, an official story that is growing feebler and more naïve, and a conspiracy theory that is getting stronger and more persuasive with every passing day.

Lawyer Loan Fees Gouge 9/11 Crews

July 25, 2010

source: NY Post    July 25, 2010

Retired NYPD Emergency Service Unit Sgt. John Boesch, who dug for survivors on 9/11 and worked at least 600 hours in the World Trade Center rubble, received an offer of $3,250, the sum awarded to all plaintiffs with no illness.

But based on his settlement letter, his take after lawyer fees and expenses dwindles to $1,322 — only 40 percent of the total.

Boesch’s legal expenses and fees come to $1,927.81, including $579.94 for “return of interest expense.”

“I don’t know loan sharks who charge that much,” said Boesch, 52, adding that this was the first he heard of such charges.

Students Sick With 9/11-Related Illnesses Want Federal Help

July 25, 2010

There is a video at the source…

source: New York 1    July 25, 2010

In addition to the emotional trauma they faced after the World Trade Center attacks, students who went to schools in Lower Manhattan say they are also facing respiratory problems, and now they also want the federal government’s help.

Current and former students were told it was safe to return to class after September 11th, and they did, exposing themselves to the same toxic air inhaled by first responders.

“They were minors during 9/11; they had no options. They were ordered back to school because the EPA said that the air was safe, and they had no ability to say yes or no,” said Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer. “And now we’re finding out that it may be that some of these children are going to come down with very serious illnesses.”
