Professor Stanley Fish looks at the phenomena of 9/11 truth in his new piece in the New York Times called, “Truth and Conspiracy in the Catskills.” Fish visited The Truth Gathering in Livingston Manor, New York that took place on Sunday, August 15, as an undercover columnist, writing, “I was the only insincere one in the room. I didn’t announce myself as a columnist looking for something to write about. I let them think I was one of them.”
Aside from Fish’s story, the growing 9/11 truth movement in the United States, and around the world has received almost zero mainstream media coverage in the West, perhaps the biggest reason why people have turned to the Internet for accurate news, reliable information, and informed analysis.
CNN, Fox News, ABC, NBC, CBS, the New York Times, the Washington Post, the Guardian, and every other major news outlet in the Western media have not upheld the moral and political values of Western civilization: self-government, freedom, and reason. Journalists, and editors who have dared to cover the 9/11 truth movement have explicitly aimed to discredit, and demonize the largely decentralized group of activists, scholars, scientists, architects, engineers, firefighters, and police officers as “fringe losers” and “conspiracy theorists.” But the truth is that the 9/11 truth movement contains ordinary people who pay their taxes, and take their kids to school. And they are not a minority. In September 2006, Time magazine published an article by Lev Grossman called, “Why the 9/11 Conspiracy Theories Won’t Go Away,” who observed that; “This is not a fringe phenomenon. It is a mainstream political reality.”
But, for whatever reasons, journalists in the mainstream media, and alternative media have kept silent about the reality of the U.S. government cover-up of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. Regular people have resorted to learning critical information about their world the old-fashioned way; by talking and sharing information with friends, and strangers. In spite of the media and state gods, hundreds of millions of people worldwide have persistently questioned the official 9/11 story for almost nine years.
Jennifer Harper of The Washington Times gave one of the few non-slanted depictions of the evidence pointing to government involvement in 9/11 in her February 2010 column. She wrote:
“A lingering technical question about the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks still haunts some, and it has political implications: How did 200,000 tons of steel disintegrate and drop in 11 seconds? A thousand architects and engineers want to know, and are calling on Congress to order a new investigation into the destruction of the Twin Towers and Building 7 at the World Trade Center.

On Saturday August 21st, 2010, Richard Gage, AIA from Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth, and Dave Thomas a physicist from New Mexicans for Science and Reason, joined Ian Punnett on Coast to Coast AM for the entire program of 4 hours to debate how the World Trade Center buildings collapsed on September 11, 2001.
Physicist Kim Johnson and chemist Niels Harrit joined the discussion in hour three.

…. on the morning of September 11, 2001, a great tragedy befell the city of new York, millions around the world watched- live- on their TV screens the tragic collapse of the world trade center twin towers in new York, and almost nine years has passed away, but still something seems amiss, we still feel as if we haven’t seen the end of this, as if we haven’t watched the true story yet.
We stand confused, divided by two stories, an official story that is growing feebler and more naïve, and a conspiracy theory that is getting stronger and more persuasive with every passing day.
According to several left-leaning critics of the 9/11 Truth Movement, some of its central claims, especially about the destruction of the World Trade Center, show its members to be scientifically challenged. In the opinion of some of these critics, moreover, claims made by members of this movement are sometimes unscientific in the strongest possible sense, implying an acceptance of magic and miracles.
After documenting this charge in Part I of this essay, I show in Part II that the exact opposite is the case: that the official account of the destruction of the World Trade Center implies miracles (I give nine examples), and that the 9/11 Truth Movement, in developing an alternative hypothesis, has done so in line with the assumption that the laws of nature did not take a holiday on 9/11. In Part III, I ask these left-leaning critics some questions evoked by the fact that it is they, not members of the 9/11 Truth Movement, who have endorsed a conspiracy theory replete with miracle stories as well as other absurdities.
I The Charge that 9/11 Truth Theories Rest on Unscientific, Even Magical, Beliefs
Several left-leaning critics of the 9/11 Truth Movement, besides showing contempt for its members, charge them with relying on claims that are contradicted by good science and, in some cases, reflect a belief in magic. By “magic,” they mean miracles, understood as violations of basic principles of the physical sciences.
Some people believe an outlandish conspiracy theory involving 19 Arab hijackers who allegedly: commandeered four commercial jets with nothing more than their cunning, wit, resolve, hatred of America, and some box cutters; then proceed to fly these aircraft around US airspace unfettered for a total lapsed time of over an hour; on three of the planes, pulled stunning flight maneuvers beyond the capability of even expert pilots; and, managed to cause damage to their targets — one of which just happens to have been the most heavily defended building in the world — so extreme as to be in clear violation of several well understood laws of Physics, Chemistry, and Thermodynamics. This amazing conspiracy theory is even more suspicious and bizarre in that it is the one proffered by the United States Government (USG) and the 9-11 Cover-Up Omission Commission. In the 9-11 Truth Movement we call it the Official Conspiracy Theory (OCT).
Thankfully, despite the best efforts of the corporate-controlled media and virtually the entire US Congress, there are literally millions of people in this country and millions more around the world who do not believe that these 19 Arabs, as clever as they purportedly were, could have somehow suspended the laws of Physics on 9-11.
Respected Middle East expert and former BBC presenter Alan Hart has broken his silence on 9/11, by revealing that the world’s most prominent civil engineering company told him directly that the collapse of the twin towers was a controlled demolition.
Mike Casner, who commented on this blog recently, sent me a link to an organization and website that I was previously unfamiliar with. The Media for 9/11 Truth group is alive, and after viewing its signatures, I am thrilled to see it is already supported by many others in the media.

Journalists and Other Media Professionals for 9/11 Truth (JOMP911T) is an international organization of journalists and other media professionals who have, unlike the mainstream (corporate) media, been reporting information that challenges the official account of 9/11.
We seek an independent investigation, unfettered by political constraints, which has full subpoena powers and examines all of the evidence relevant to determining what happened on 9/11. To date, virtually all of the evidence that conflicts with the official account has been ignored by the mass media.
Richard Gage, AIA, of Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth, along with Erik Lawyer of Firefighters for 9/11 Truth gave a historic presentation hosted by Peter Collins.
The two experts in seperate fields discussed the growing body of evidence for Controlled Demolitions use on 9/11/01.
Now another expert has joined the struggle for truth and accountability; Tom Sullivan. As a former employee of Controlled Demolion Inc. tom has a lot to say about the nature in which Towers 1, 2, and 7 fell.

This past weekend, 5/8/2010, Firefighters for 9/11 Truth and Architects and Engineers for 9/11 truth held a conference in the San Francisco area to discuss their work. One of the guest speakers was a gentleman by the name of Tom Sullivan who had previously worked for Controlled Demolition, Inc. (CDI), owned and operated by the Loizeaux family.
Tom Sullivan worked for CDI about 10 years ago before and during 9/11, and he worked for CDI for almost 3 years. His roll with CDI was Site Photographer/Explosives Technician. He is also licensed by the FDNY to handle explosives. His explosives tech. duties included placing explosives in buildings to prepare them for demolition.
Sullivan worked on projects such as Seattle King Dome, Three Rivers Stadium, Philadelphia Naval Hospital, Key Span Gas Holders, among others. He also went to high-school with Doug Loizeaux of CDI as well. Sullivan has also published work in the book “Implosion” published by Black Dog Publishing.

Using well-documented forensic evidence, news footage and eyewitness testimony, they will address and correct myths such as: “The fires were hot enough from ordinary jet fuel to weaken the structural steel; The floors of the towers collapsed like pancakes;” and “there were only two skyscrapers to collapse on 9/11.” Demolition contractor Tom Sullivan will present why he “has no doubt that World Trade Center Building 7 was a timed explosive implosion event whose destruction was certainly not due to fire as reported.” Mr. Sullivan worked for Controlled Demolitions Inc., the top rated explosive demolition firm in the world owned by the Loizeaux family, during the years surrounding 9/11 as an explosive loader for three years.
