by Rick Rozoff, source: Global Research Jan 2, 2010 January 1 will usher in the last year of the first decade of a new millennium and ten consecutive years of the United States conducting war in the Greater Middle East. The Afghan war, the U.S.’s first air and ground conflict in Asia since the disastrous wars in Vietnam and Cambodia in the 1960s and early 1970s and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization’s first land war and Asian campaign, began during the end of the 2001 war in Macedonia launched from NATO-occupied Kosovo, one in which the role of U.S. military personnel is still to be properly exposed [1] and addressed and which led to the displacement of almost 10 percent of the nation’s population. |
2010: U.S. To Wage War Throughout The World
January 2, 2010FIGHTING BACK: RIDDING AMERICA OF THE WARMONGERS
December 31, 2009By Sherwood Ross
Disgusted Americans who vote for politicians that talk peace yet, once elected, support wars, need to get active in between elections. Just voting every four years won’t hack it.
As MIT activist philosopher Noam Chomsky points out in his book “Failed States”(Metropolitan), “Opportunities for education and organizing abound. As in the past, rights are not likely to be granted by benevolent authorities, or won by intermittent actions—attending a few demonstrations or pushing a lever in the personalized quadrennial extravaganzas that are depicted as ‘democratic politics.’ …These tasks require dedicated day-by-day engagement…” Failure to grasp these opportunities “is likely to have ominous repercussions: for the country, for the world, and for future generations.”

Deposition of Sibel Edmonds Completed, DoJ a ‘No Show,’ Bombshells Under Oath
August 9, 2009Live blogging coverage of the Sibel Edmonds deposition at the National Whistleblowers Center in Washington D.C. For background see previous coverage:
- 8/5/09: Sibel Edmonds Subpoenaed, Set to ‘Break’ Gag Order
- 8/7/09: EXCLUSIVE: FBI Attempts to Block Edmonds Testimony in OH Election Case
- 8/7/09: EXCLUSIVE UPDATE: DoJ Pressures Ohio Election Commission to Block Edmonds Testimony
[Updates at bottom...]
8:00am PT (11:00am ET): The deposition has now begun inside the National Whisteblowers Center, and has not, apparently, been blocked by an assertion of the “state secrets” privilege by the DoJ.
The BRAD BLOG has some folks covering outside the testimony this morning, and I just spoke to some of the folks on the ground outside the NWC, just before the deposition was set to begin, including David Krikorian, who flew in last night from Ohio.
He said his team intended to ask detailed questions on the three major points they’d described in their press release [PDF] issued earlier this week, focusing on whether and how “The Government of Turkey had illegally infiltrated and influenced various U.S. government institutions and officials, including the Department of State, the Department of Defense, and individual members of the United States Congress.”
Krikorian did not seem dissuaded by the FBI’s and then the DoJ’s attempts to block Edmonds’ testimony, and that they intended to be thorough in their deposition. “That’s pretty much the whole point of this exercise,” he told me.
There are apparently a handful of mostly independent and foreign media outlets present outside the NWC. No corporate MSM, from the reports I’ve gotten. Independent TV/media, an Armenian English language weekly, and press attache representatives of some foreign governments are among those present.
Project EXPOSE MSM Report 2 , DEA Scandal and TIME
June 15, 2009
source: 123 real change
As noted in the announcement, 123 Real Change invites all members of the National Security Whistleblowers Coalition, other active (covert or overt) government whistleblowers, and reporters, to publish their experiences in regard to their own first-hand dealings with the media, where their legit disclosures were either intentionally censored/blacked out, tainted, or otherwise met with a betrayal of trust.
This second project report is based on the first-hand documented experience of Mr. Sandalio Gonzalez, retired Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) Special Agent in Charge. Time Magazine reporters Tim Burger and Tim Padgett had an opportunity to speak at length with Mr. Gonzalez and several other veteran DEA agents with direct knowledge of a major corruption case involving several DEA agents on drug traffickers’ payrolls in Colombia. The involved corrupt US officers were also directly involved in helping Colombia’s paramilitary death squads launder drug proceeds. Further presented was the documented cover up of this major scandal by the DEA and DOJ IG offices. Despite corroboration by a number of other sources, including several veteran DEA agents and other government officials with first-hand knowledge of the case, and documented evidence disclosed and provided, and despite being given an ‘exclusive’ to the story as insisted on by them, Time Magazine never published the story, and no reasons were ever provided.
