Eliza Manningham-Buller, Director of MI5 from 2002 to 2007.
by Brian Romanoff July 21, 2010
Eliza Manningham-Buller, the former Director of the British Intelligence Agency known as MI5, has stated that there was no evidence linking Iraq and Saddam Hussein to the attacks of 9/11:
“Saddam Hussein had nothing to do with 9/11, and I have never seen anything to make me change my mind.”
This is a nice gesture 7 years after the fact that American and British (NATO) forces led the invasion into Iraq in 2003; of which we still have over 80,000 American troops deployed to , plus the 100,000 American troops deployed in Afghanistan.
But…
Manningham-Buller was in favor of the terror war vocally back in 2003, saying Al Qaeda was “the first truly global threat“.
And just like George W. Bush and Tony Blair, Manninghan-Buller was confident that this war would be long, so long that she was not sure that it could be won, saying, “if this is a war that can be won, it is not going to be won soon.”
In 2005, Manningham-Buller wondered if civil liberties were worth preserving compared to heightened security measures and law enforcement procedures employed after the 2005 London bombings.
“But the world has changed and there needs to be a debate on whether some erosion of what we all value may be necessary to improve the chances of our citizens not being blown apart as they go about their daily lives..”
Manninghan-Buller resigned after the London 7/7/05 bombings due to the obviously inept, and quite possibly criminal, intelligence failures. This is from a Daily Mail article in 2006:
The head of MI5 has resigned weeks before full details of the role of her agents in a surveillance operation involving two of the July 7 bombers are due to be revealed.

(It’s been over 10 years since Annie Machon and David Shayler resigned from MI5, to blow the whistle on an act of False Flag terror by British intelligence in Libya, and other deceptive practices by intelligence agencies in the UK and abroad. In 2006, Machon gave a Keynote speech at the landmark Chicago 9/11 Truth Conference, introducing her story to a wider audience. In 2006-7, Machon organised three UK and European tours for William Rodriguez. She traveled and spoke with him at over 40 engagements, last year she spoke in California. She has also organised European speaking tours for Richard Gage and David Ray Griffin, and shared a platform with Cynthia McKinney in Amsterdam in 2007. Starting in May, Machon will be speaking at a number of places in Canada. To learn more about this speaking tour, and to possibly add your city to the itinerary, please contact Elizabeth Woodworth: elizwood(at)shaw.ca or Patrick Borden: directors(at)vancouver911truth.org. -rep.)
911blogger: Ms. Machon, what is your current relationship with David Shayler? Do you still believe that Shayler had a genuine breakdown, or was his breakdown perhaps premediated, with the intent of making 9/11 Truth advocates look batty?
Machon: David and I separated almost three years ago, and I’m now living in Germany with my partner and Molly the cat.
I have very little contact with David now, which is strange after the intensity of our years together, when we blew the whistle, had to go on the run around Europe, watch as our friends, family, supporters and journalists were arrested, live in France for 3 years and survive two high-profile court cases.

This is an update on the assasination of Mahmud al-Mabhouh in a Dubai hotel room on January 20. Our past story about it is here, along with video.
Video from the stories below may be found here from CNN.
From CNN:
London, England (CNN) – There are “compelling reasons” to believe the Israeli government was responsible for forging British passports used in a plot to kill a Hamas leader in the United Arab Emirates earlier this year, British Foreign Secretary David Miliband said Tuesday.
“Such misuse of British passports is intolerable,” Miliband said, adding that the fact that Israel was an ally of the United Kingdom “only adds insult to injury.”
The passports were “copied from genuine British passports” in a “highly sophisticated operation,” indicating a government was behind it, Miliband told the House of Commons.

Whistle-blower: Dr Kelly died after casting doubt on Government claims about Saddam’s weapons
source: Daily Mail
Medical records which would shed light on the death of government scientist David Kelly will be kept secret for 70 years, it emerged yesterday.
The unprecedented move has been ordered by Lord Hutton, who chaired the inquiry which controversially concluded that the mysterious death was suicide.
It means vital evidence, including the results of Dr Kelly’s post-mortem examination - which have never been made public - will remain under wraps until 2073, by which time anyone involved in the case will almost certainly be dead.
The body of 59-year- old UN weapons inspector Dr Kelly was found in July 2003 in woods near his Oxfordshire home. Days earlier he had been revealed as the source of a BBC story claiming evidence against Iraq had been ‘sexed up’ to justify invasion.

As AFP notes:
A BBC investigation has cast doubt on key evidence in the case against the Libyan convicted of blowing up a US jet over the Scottish town of Lockerbie in 1988, the broadcaster said Wednesday.
A tiny fragment of the timer allegedly used to blow up Pan Am flight 103 — crucial in linking Abdelbaset Ali Mohmet al-Megrahi to the bomb — was not properly tested and was also unlikely to have survived the explosion, it said…
According to the BBC’s Newsnight programme, the fragment of the timer — found embedded in a charred piece of clothing three weeks after the bombing — was never tested to confirm if it had actually been in a blast.
Anyone who’s watched a tv detective show knows that crooked police officers sometimes plant false evidence in order to frame an innocent person for the crime (and see this video).
Or police sometimes plant false evidence to convict someone who really is a criminal, just to strengthen the case.
In that light, remember that Seymour Hersh – the Pulitzer prize-winning reporter who uncovered the Iraq prison torture scandal and the My Lai massacre in Vietnam – wrote:

The piece says that television isn’t a factor, but keep this USA Today article in mind:
A study released Monday adds to the debate over whether television impairs children’s language development. It found that parents and children virtually stop talking to each other when the TV is on, even if they’re in the same room.
For every hour in front of the TV, parents spoke 770 fewer words to children, according to a study of 329 children, ages 2 months to 4 years, in the June issue of Archives of Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine. Adults usually speak about 941 words an hour.
Children vocalized less, too, says author Dimitri Christakis of the Seattle Children’s Research Institute. In some cases, parents may have spoken less because they sat a child in front of a TV and left the room, he says. In others, parents simply zoned out themselves while watching TV with a child. Researchers didn’t note the content of the TV shows.

Many recent announcements have been made signaling a long and drawn out occupation in Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as escalating conflicts and wars in Pakistan, Palestine, and soon enough Iran.
Obama has announced an escalation of 30,000 more troops into Afghanistan, bringing the number to 100,000 US children fighting in Afghanistan alone. This number does not reflect the gross number of private contractors in Afghanistan either, which totals over 150,000 now. Over 250,000 U.S. personnel will be occupying Afghan land before too long.
The British have announced recently that they will be making adjustments to their camouflage uniforms. In fact it will be the first change the British Army has made to its uniforms since 1968. The fact that it has taken 8 years of war in Afghanistan to make a radical change like that, unlike a withdrawal, signals a readiness to stay in Afghanistan longer.
A major U.S. Military spending bill was sent to Obama on Saturday, the bill includes $636 billion to continue the war, and escalate it. $80 billion of that package is going to acquire new unmanned drones to continue the shadow war in Pakistan.

- We are fighting illegal preemptive wars against three countries. Afghanistan, Iraq, and Pakistan. The resulting wars have caused well over 1,000,000 casualties. Preemptive war is illegal according to the Nuremberg Charter, and the United Nations charter. These wars are destabilizing the entire Middle East, and causing anti-American sentiment throughout the world.
- In America, the Constitution is being forgotten with the passage of bills like the Patriot Act, the Military Commissions Act, and the John Warner National Defense Authorization Act. Americans are forced to wonder if their conversations are being monitored through the use of illegal wiretapping. The freedom of the press, and the right to peacefully assemble is being discarded.
- Executive Power within the United States is being expanded to the point of near-dictatorship, and accountability for the actions of the Executive, and other members of Government is non-existent.
- A constant state of fear is the norm.
- Billions upon billions are being spent on the previously mentioned wars, and things that are needed for the people are being forgotten about.
- Soldiers are dying, are being subjected to multiple tours of duty, are being exposed to depleted uranium and chemical weapons, are suffering from post traumatic stress disorder, are committing suicide at an astounding rate, are being fed propaganda in order to murder innocents, and are having their families destroyed.

This article is Part 3 in the Series, “The Origins of World War III.”
Part 1: An Imperial Strategy for a New World Order: The Origins of World War III
Part 2: Colour-Coded Revolutions and the Origins of World War III
Introduction
In Parts 1 and 2 of this series, I have analyzed US and NATO geopolitical strategy since the fall of the Soviet Union, in expanding the American empire and preventing the rise of new powers, containing Russia and China. This Part examines the implications of this strategy in recent years; following the emergence of a New Cold War, as well as analyzing the war in Georgia, the attempts and methods of regime change in Iran, the coup in Honduras, the expansion of the Afghan-Pakistan war theatre, and spread of conflict in Central Africa. These processes of a New Cold War and major regional wars and conflicts take the world closer to a New World War. Peace can only be possible if the tools and engines of empires are dismantled.
Eastern Europe: Forefront of the New Cold War
In 2002, the Guardian reported that, “The US military build-up in the former Soviet republics of central Asia is raising fears in Moscow that Washington is exploiting the Afghan war to establish a permanent, armed foothold in the region.” Further, “The swift construction of US military bases is also likely to ring alarm bells in Beijing.”[1]

PM paves way for US troop surge in Afghanistan, saying he has assurances from Nato countries
source: Guardian UK
Gordon Brown paved the way today for the announcement next Tuesday of a large US troop surge in Afghanistan by saying he had received assurances from Nato countries that they would contribute an extra 5,000 troops.
The assurances are significant because both Brown and Barack Obama have said they will not commit more of their own troops unless there are increases in other Nato troop numbers.
There was some confusion in Nato circles as to the source of Brown’s optimism that the number of troops could rise by 5,000, but the prime minister’s spokesman said his assessment came after discussions with 10 coalition partners.

The CIA relied on intelligence based on torture in prisons in Uzbekistan, a place where widespread torture practices include raping suspects with broken bottles and boiling them alive, says a former British ambassador to the central Asian country.
Craig Murray, the rector of the University of Dundee in Scotland and until 2004 the UK’s ambassador to Uzbekistan, said the CIA not only relied on confessions gleaned through extreme torture, it sent terror war suspects to Uzbekistan as part of its extraordinary rendition program.
“I’m talking of people being raped with broken bottles,” he said at a lecture late last month that was re-broadcast by the Real News Network. “I’m talking of people having their children tortured in front of them until they sign a confession. I’m talking of people being boiled alive. And the intelligence from these torture sessions was being received by the CIA, and was being passed on.”

The ad is due to run in the Independent, the UK’s most serious newspaper, read by MPs and others in the elite. These people have the greatest difficulty accepting that 9/11 was most likely some sort of an inside job, so we have been careful not to go an inch beyond the provable facts. Click here to see a full-size version of the ad.

SCOTT FORBES is a British victim of the 9/11 attacks. Scott had the trauma of seeing many colleagues die as the Twin Towers collapsed opposite his New York flat. He was off work after attending to a power down the weekend before the disaster. Workers were recabling the building. The media and the 9/11 Commission have refused to investigate what was going on. Scott is not making allegations, he just wants to know the truth.
NIELS HARRIT is an expert on nanotechnology. His suspicions were aroused when he saw the rapid symmetrical collapse of Building 7, which took place hours after the attacks took place. The media announced the collapse before it happened but it took Bush’s scientists years to offer any sort of explanation. They have admitted the collapse was at free fall speed. Niels has analysed dust samples from the site and found some bizarre high energy particles which seem to be artifical.

No, no mention of 9/11. Just a reminder that for the mainstream press you can talk about Bush’s “abuses of power,” but you can’t cross the imaginary line that protects the 9/11 Commission. -9/11blogger
The Obama administration has clung for so long to the Bush administration’s expansive claims of national security and executive power that it is in danger of turning President George W. Bush’s cover-up of abuses committed in the name of fighting terrorism into President Barack Obama’s cover-up.
We have had recent reminders of this dismaying retreat from Mr. Obama’s passionate campaign promises to make a break with Mr. Bush’s abuses of power, a shift that denies justice to the victims of wayward government policies and shields officials from accountability.
In Britain earlier this month, a two-judge High Court panel rejected arguments made first by the Bush team and now by the Obama team and decided to make public seven redacted paragraphs in American intelligence documents relating to torture allegations by a former prisoner at Guantánamo Bay. The prisoner, Binyam Mohamed, an Ethiopian-born British national, says he was tortured in Pakistan, Morocco and at a C.I.A.-run prison outside Kabul before being transferred to Guantánamo. He was freed in February. Read the rest of this entry »
