Former Senator Mike Gravel

by Carol Brouillet   source:  9/11 Blogger    Oct 9, 2010

Listen to the weekly Community Currency radio show on Progressive Radio Network 5- 6 pm (EST), Thursday, October 14, 2010 – to hear more about the California 9/11 Truth Commission Initiative with former Senator Mike Gravel (U.S.Senator from Alaska 1969-1981), best known for his courageous effort to read the Pentagon Papers into the public record. (He is featured in the documentary- The Most Dangerous Man in America) Senator Mike Gravel’s passion has been Direct Democracy, which allows people to make laws, rather than allowing “elected representatives” exclusive ability to make the laws. He has also taken brave stances and spoken out against secrecy in government.

He supported and worked on the NYCCAN 2009 ballot initiative in New York City that would have established a local commission to conduct an impartial, evidence-driven investigation into the events of September 11, 2001. 80,000 New Yorkers signed the petition, far exceeding the requirement for the proposed City Charter amendment to be presented to the voters on the November ballot. However, the City of New York refused to place it on the ballot citing legal insufficiencies in the petition, and the State Supreme Court ruled in the City’s favor.

Documentary on 9/11 Attacks will Soon be India’s First E-Film

September 21, 2010

This is really good news if you were to ask me! I can’t wait to see the film.

source: DNA India   Sep 21, 2010

Over the past few years, budding filmmaker and self-proclaimed social activist, Xahid has been poring over 9/11 literature, news reports and TV clips in order to cull material for his documentary, 9/11 T-error: The Biggest Lie of the Century. Touted as India’s first e-film, the 75-minute documentary will only be released over the internet.

The film raises uncomfortable questions and accuses the United States of engineering the terror attacks. We figured it would be easier to release it on a website and social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter,” said the 33-year-old, who plans to eventually take his documentary to cinema halls.

Xahid insists that 9/11 was “an inside job and was scripted like a big reality show”. The film has footage of US writers and politicians questioning the country’s role in the terror attacks and its aftermath. “Images of Osama bin Laden claiming responsibility for the attacks are blurry and some experts believe it’s not really him,” Xahid said.

9/11 Anniversary Preparations: The 6th Annual 9-11 Truth Film Festival (Bay Area)

August 24, 2010

Last year’s 9/11 Film Festival was packed with information and speakers. From Peter Phillips to Richard Gage and David R. Griffin to Dylan Avery to name a few. Last year also saw the premier of the Investigative Documentary, ” The Anthrax War.”

This year will include David Chandler, a physics teacher, on the list of speakers, along with Mickey Huff of Project Censored, and Peter Phillips.

If you live in the greater Bay Area, please consider gracing one of these nights speakers with your presence and attention. I am sure you will leave content with the experience, and perhaps see why the continuous quest for 9/11 truth is still ever more important.

Don’t let a decade of “War on Terror”, based on 9/11, continuing through two administrations and political ideologies, come and pass without you looking back on the events of 9/11 -and what hundreds and thousands of professionals are asking you to witness: Controlled Demolitions and the lies we have been told.

Beautiful! 9/11 Truth Billboard in San Luis Obispo

August 7, 2010

(Don’t forget about this other billboard in Pheonix, Az!)

source:  Orange County Meetup    Aug 7, 2010

In what may be the first of it’s kind in the nation, a group of 9/11 Truth activists organized, designed and paid for a commercial billboard in which 1,200 Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth invite the public to “Examine the Evidence.”

The 24’ (w) x 12’ (h) billboard was installed sometime Thurs. afternoon, Aug. 5, 2010 on South Higuera, just south of Elks Lane in San Luis Obispo (near the Sutcliffe Cemetery). [ MAP: ].

The activists who brought this matter to the people of San Luis Obispo County and the thousands that will drive by the billboard over the next 8 weeks realize that the evidence we are attempting to share is difficult to digest. Many simply cannot bear to question the official version of what happened on 9/11 because the implications are so difficult to face.

Moving Your Money Can Have a Real Effect on Big Banks

January 15, 2010

source: Washingtons Blog

People have asked whether moving your money from your giant bank to a small community bank or credit union will have any real affect on the too big to fails, given that most of their profits come from speculative investments instead of normal banking deposits.

According to the Nation, the answer is yes:

The cynics either do not understand banking or misunderstand the widespread public anger. Dennis Santiago, [influential bank-rating firm, Institutional Risk Analytics'] CEO and managing director, explained that banks compete fiercely for the “core deposits” provided by individual and small business accounts–this stable money is their preferred base for profitable lending. Take away core deposits, and bankers feel immediate balance-sheet stress. Expand the account base for community banks, and they gain greater stability and greater lending power. “Will moving your money have an effect?” Santiago asked. “And by effect, I don’t mean making a momentary political statement. I mean making a structural difference to the country’s financial system. The answer is yes.”

The Nation points out that a wide variety of campaigns to take back power are being launched from diverse sources:

A campaign launched by faith-based community organizations associated with the Industrial Areas Foundation identifies sky-high interest rates on credit cards and other lending as the ancient sin of usury. IAF groups are asking churches, foundations and local governments to withdraw funds from the usurious banks that profit by destroying borrowers. Organized labor, likewise, has launched an aggressive movement to insist on responsible investing values for the pension-fund wealth of working people, urging state treasurers and fund managers to invest for society’s interests as well as good returns.

Alex Jones Calls For Mass Resistance To Implementation Of Body Scanners

January 5, 2010

source: Info Wars

Radio talk show host Alex Jones is calling for petitions, boycotts and lawsuits en mass in an effort to block the nationwide implementation of full body scanners that represent a total violation of privacy, a health risk, and the next wave of tyranny being metered out against the American people and the people of the world under the phony pretext of fighting terrorism.

“Our long journey into domestication and dependency on the scientific dictatorship is accelerating, our entire society is being turned into a massive surveillance grid, it has been designed to persecute the people,” Jones warned on his show yesterday, adding that the scanners were the latest manifestation of the prison planet being constructed around humanity.

Allied with the contrived global warming movement, terrorism is the other prong of the pincer being used to crush freedom and advance totalitarianism in the developed world as Homeland Security follows the plan it was created to carry out – the gradual implementation of martial law in America characterized by the kind of stifling security we now see in airports being introduced into our daily lives in shopping malls, public schools, and many other buildings.

Abandon False Hope … And Get Some Real Hope

January 5, 2010

source: Washingtons Blog   Jan 4, 2010

It is easy to be skeptical.

Virtually all of our politicians are corrupt. See this, this and this.

The giant banks are running the show.

The healthcare bill being rammed through Congress “is just another bailout of the financial system“, and law school professors say that it is unconstitutional.

Gandhi and The Dalai Lama Are Not Opposed to Guns

January 2, 2010

Source: Washingtons Blog   Jan 2, 2010

I was raised to be against guns. My parents hated guns, and believed that they only lead to crime and to accidental shootings.

Sure, I knew that the Constitution includes a right to bear arms, but I believed that it was no longer relevant and only applied to a previous era when there were “well-regulated militias”. I was also taught that the government would protect us, and that private gun ownership was the danger. guns,

And I have long been deeply influenced by leading voices for non-violence, such as Gandhi and King. And I still hope that their non-violent methods prevail.

What the Founding Fathers Said About Guns

A little research showed me that the Second Amendment had more to do with freedom than historical militias. Here’s what the Founding Fathers actually said about arms:

Laws that forbid the carrying of arms, disarm only those who are neither inclined, nor determined to commit crimes. Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants. They serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.
– Thomas Jefferson, 1764

December 31, 2009

By Sherwood Ross

Disgusted Americans who vote for politicians that talk peace yet, once elected, support wars, need to get active in between elections. Just voting every four years won’t hack it.

As MIT activist philosopher Noam Chomsky points out in his book “Failed States”(Metropolitan), “Opportunities for education and organizing abound. As in the past, rights are not likely to be granted by benevolent authorities, or won by intermittent actions—attending a few demonstrations or pushing a lever in the personalized quadrennial extravaganzas that are depicted as ‘democratic politics.’ …These tasks require dedicated day-by-day engagement…” Failure to grasp these opportunities “is likely to have ominous repercussions: for the country, for the world, and for future generations.”
