Week 4 – Wake Up the NYC District Attorney with 1,000 Letters

June 30, 2010

NYC CAN Initiative for WTC 7 Legal Action

source: NYCCAN   June 30, 2010

We are sending this one out a little late, but in case you forgot, this is your last opportunity to get your letter into the mail. You don’t have to be an A/E. If you have two members in your household, send two letters, one from each of you. There is still time! Send today!

A message from NYC CAN:

Fellow Advocates!

Together we finished Week 3 with 221 letters sent to the District Attorney’s office! It may not be 1000, but it’s downright amazing when you think about the message 221 letters must send to the folks in the Special Prosecutions Bureau. 221 letters this week, on top of 217 letters last week, on top of 133 letters the week before. Wow!

The letter for Week 4 is our most important and most powerful one yet. Read it, and you’ll agree. If there’s one route the DA will most likely take to revealing the truth about September 11, 2001, it’s the destruction of physical evidence at the WTC site.

Week 2 – Wake Up the DA with 1,000 Letters!

June 8, 2010
source: NYC CAN   June 8, 2010

First off, the Building7Footage.com website has been updated with a bigger screen, a more widely viewable video format, and sleeker look. Go see what the District Attorney’s office will be looking at as they open all the letters we sent last week!

Which brings us to the news you may be waiting for. We finished the week with a grand total of 133 letters. Well short of our ambitious goal of 1,000, but enough to feel confident that the DA’s office is taking notice.

So, thank you very much to everyone who participated. For everyone who didn’t participate, it’s not too late! In fact, Week 2 is the perfect time to multiply the size of our campaign so that just when the DA’s office thinks the letters will stop flowing in, they begin experiencing a noticeable increase

Wake Up the District Attorney With 1,000 Letters: WEEK 1

June 4, 2010

Wake Up the District Attorney With 1,000 Letters

source: World for 9/11 Truth   June 4, 2010

A message from NYC CAN:

Fellow Advocates,

Today is the first day of our 4-week campaign urging the Manhattan District Attorney to investigate the destruction of World Trade Center Building 7. To bring Building 7 fully to the attention of the District Attorney, our goal is to flood the DA’s office with 1,000 letters and faxes per week, because anything short of 1,000 will fail to show just how widespread the desire for a new investigation is. We are counting on you to take part in this gigantic grassroots effort no matter who you are or how busy you are. The good thing is:

You will only be asked to send one letter per week!

And, at the beginning of each week, we will report how many letters and faxes were sent the previous week! This way we all get to know whether or not we reached our goal.

Building What?! Action Alert: Manhattan District Attorney

April 13, 2010

source: NYCCAN   April 13, 2010

Fellow Advocates:

Today NYC CAN is meeting with the Chief of Staff of another New York City Council Member. This is our eighth meeting with a council member or their staff, and once again, this one is happening because of your phone calls and faxes.

Thank you!

One month ago many Council Members and majority of their staff were not aware a third building collapsed on September 11th. Today the entire City Council and several hundred staff are acutely aware, and most of them have seen footage of it. You know what that leads to.

There is no way to gauge reliably the number of phone calls made to the City Council Speaker last week, but judging from the number of responses we received far exceeding the usual number, and the fact that the action alert was sent to over 20,000 people, we think it’s safe to assume the Speaker is aware A LOT of people are asking the City Council to investigate Building 7.

Where do we go from here?

Now that we have all paved the way for the New York City Council to begin having a discussion about Building 7, NYC CAN will continue its job of making sure courageous council members do their part. While that’s happening, we would be missing out on a big opportunity if we didn’t continue channeling our voice in other worthwhile directions, and so we would like to introduce:

Building What?! Day 14 (and important Day 17 info!)

April 1, 2010

Fellow Advocates:

Please note that City Council offices will be closed tomorrow, Friday, April 2 in observance of Good Friday.  Building WHAT?! will resume full force on Monday, April 5, and culminate on Wednesday, April 7 with the Speaker of the City Council, Christine Quinn, who will be the only council member we contact that day.  Our goal for the Speaker’s office is 1,000 phone calls and faxes, so please be sure to participate on Wednesday, April 7 – with only one person to contact it’s very easy!

Also, just to reiterate, please be sure to direct the aides to “A Message From Bob McIlvaine” on the NYCCAN.org homepage so that they see footage of Building 7 and learn what the pursuit of truth is all about.

Thank you!

Building What?! Day 12

March 30, 2010

March 30, 2010

Fellow Advocates:

Thank you for making Day 11 another eye-opening day!  One caller had this to report:

“Called all three today – ladies at Reyna and Rivera’s offices were very receptive to the news about Building 7… None of the three had even heard of Building 7 before this calling campaign.  I did my best to inform – got some “wow” responses!”

Building What?! Day 11 (7 Days to Go!)

March 29, 2010

 March 29, 2010

Fellow Advocates:

Thank you for sticking with it and making it easy for the City Council to listen to us with your polite and focused manner! So far all of the offices have told us they were pleased with how we have been communicating our message. Rest assured they are taking notice of what we have to say.

As we head into the final seven days of our campaign, we will be contacting some key council members whose support we will be counting on to make the City Council address Building 7, The Salomon Brothers building. So please be sure to continue what you are doing and make the effort end with a crescendo.

If you haven’t gotten involved yet, please consider doing so. One participant had this to say on Friday: “I’m pleasantly surprised at how easy it is to make a few simple calls to the Council Members. Their aides seem friendly and sincere, and are telling me they’re getting over 100 calls per day. They all promise that the Members will be looking into WTC 7. It feels good to help spread the word.”

Building What?! Day 7

March 23, 2010

Fellow Advocates:

March 23, 2010

Thank you for keeping Building What?! going full blast.  Our numbers are high and the simplicity of our message is opening eyes.  Think about it this way: two weeks from today the entire New York City Council and all of their staff will know that 1,100+ architects and engineers are calling for a new investigation into the collapse of World Trade Center Building 7.  Almost all of them will have seen footage of WTC 7, and a vast majority, those capable of being honest with themselves, will know that office fires did not bring it down.  That in itself is a remarkable accomplishment, but more importantly, we are creating the kind of awareness that leads to unforeseeable and uncontrollable developments.

Building What Campaign. Day 6 – Letter from 9/11 Widow to Councilman Garodnick

March 22, 2010
Fellow Advocates:
Thank you to everyone who participated in the first week of the Building What?! campaign.

So far, we have contacted 15 of the 51 members of the New York City Council.  When we are done with all 51 council members, there will be a big elephant in the room at City Hall.  NYC CAN is in the process of meeting with individual council members, educating them in-depth and urging them not to let the elephant go ignored.  Don’t expect immediate results, but do expect the seeds we are all are planting together to bloom as public opinion continues to shift in our favor.

BUILDING WHAT?! Day 5

March 19, 2010
March 19,  2010

Fellow Advocates:

Thank you to everyone who helped make Building What?! Day 4 an amazing success.

12 down. 39 to go.

We’ve decided to continue sending email blasts. To make it possible, we kindly ask you to donate to help cover the extra $250 it will cost to send 12 more email blasts, AND, your donation will go toward a new NYC pubic opinion poll. Please donate a manageable amount of $25 – or more if you can manage. The poll will allow us to show the City Council that a majority of New Yorkers support a new investigation, and that a vast majority who’ve seen footage of Building 7 collapse do not believe office fires were the cause. Showing the Council that its constituents would support a new investigation is an essential part of this campaign. We have raised $1100 of the $4850 needed for the poll. If you have $25 to spare, this is an opportunity to send a powerful message to the City Council at a critical moment when they will be listening – please don’t pass it up. Go to NYCCAN.org right now and help us by donating what you can.

An important update to the instructions from yesterday: tell aides to go to NYCCAN.org, rather than YouTube, to watch “A Message From Bob McIlvaine”.

BUILDING WHAT?! Day 4 (and Important Updates!)

March 18, 2010
Fellow Advocates:

Thank you to everyone who helped make Building What?! Day 3 an even greater success.

9 down. 42 to go.

Before giving Day 3’s quotes and Day 4’s council member info, we have two important updates to make:

1) Starting tomorrow, Day 5, instructions will no longer be sent through email blasts.  Please go to NYCCAN.org, where instructions for that day will be posted.

Repeat: there will not be an action alert in your inbox on Friday.  Please be sure to go to NYCCAN.org on your own to get the instructions.

It is crucial that the same number of people participate once we stop sending out email blasts, so, on Friday, we will ask you to send an email to info@nyccan.org notifying us that you participated that day.

2) It is increasingly clear the staffers we speak with are extremely receptive and in most cases they have not seen footage of Building 7.  If you get into a conversation with them, ask if they have seen footage of Building 7.  If they haven’t, offer to send them the link to “A Message From Bob McIlvaine” – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SH9meDbrlP8 – which will show them the two most impressive angles of Building 7, and it will show them what the honest pursuit of truth is all about.  Encourage them to share the video with everyone in the office.  Winning the staff will help immeasurably in winning the council members.

If they give you their email address, please send it to info@nyccan.org so that we can add it to our list of contacts within the City Council.  If they don’t want to give their email address, tell them to go to YouTube and search for “Message From Bob McIlvaine”.

Please email us at info@nyccan.org if you do get a staffer to watch the video.
Quotes from Day 3:

“I was the first to speak to [          ]’s assistant and he was already well informed on the issue – it shows the great job everyone is doing to get the truth out.”

“The gentleman who answered was exceedingly polite and understanding – he indicated that they had been inundated with telephone calls this morning.”
