Local Author Takes on Feds in Wiretapping Case

January 8, 2012

source: Press Democrat   Jan 8, 2012

As a novelist, Carolyn Jewel never knows where her research will take her.

She’s studied the power of rail guns, war in Europe, and the history of Syria. And all along she corresponds with readers throughout the world, including from Islamic countries like Indonesia.

And she doesn’t want to worry how all that might look to an official peering over her shoulder, which is why the Petaluma author is taking on the government’s largest espionage service.

The single mother is lead plaintiff in a lawsuit against the National Security Agency, claiming it scooped up copies of her calls and internet records and those of millions of others in violation of their Constitutional rights.

“We are supposed to be able to live our lives without worry that the government is looking in,” she said. “If they are, that’s wrong.”

Russ Baker visited the California coastal community of Point Reyes on 9/29/11.

After discussing some very interesting details and facts presented in his book, Russ was able to answer some questions from the audience.

Questions ranged from journalism in the 21st century and hackers, to Saudi connections to 9/11 and how Commissions, including the 9/11 Commission ”never, ever get to the bottom of anything“. Watch the video above for more.

Bay Area Surveillance Continues to Increase Since 9/11

September 9, 2011

So much is not included in this article, I just want to remind you of the decision by Santa Rosa last year to relpace its parking meter-maids with 7-camera equipped SUV’s.

And don’t forget the cameras instead of toll takers on all the Bay area’s bridges. – Brian @ Nor Cal

source: Yahoo News    Sep 9, 2011

On September 11, 1773, Benjamin Franklin wrote, “There never was a good war or bad peace.”

More than 200 years later, on September 11, 2001, the United States lost its sense of peace as an undetermined enemy declared “unofficial war” on the U.S. when terrorists overtook passenger planes,
crashing them into the New York World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and a field in Pennsylvania.

In the days that followed, the streets around San Jose were eerily vacant. I remember people seemed afraid to go out in public for weeks after. The events that took place thousands of miles away from the Bay Area reached all corners of our society, wreaking havoc on our lives – precisely the goal of terrorism.

The Bay Area’s means of surveillance continues to grow at a pace that would cause George Orwell to turn in his grave.

What is Bay Area security and surveillance like in the wake of 9/11?

- In August 2011, Gilroy installed its first downtown security camera, with more on the way.

- As of 2010, Bay Area residents are using social media to watch for and report criminal activity in San Jose.

- Fremont’s Logitech reports installing a private Alert Digital Video Security Camera in a neighborhood or home allows you to “register the camera with the new ‘Neighborhood Central’ crime prevention service.”

- The Proposition 1B bond affords San Jose more real-time cameras planned for local highways.

- According to SF Gate, San Francisco will install state-of-the-art real-time video surveillance cameras on 358 Muni buses.

Sebastopol Takes Another Look at SmartMeter Ban

February 14, 2011

There are concerns about health, privacy and corruption regarding the SmartMeters: A stand against the SmartMeter is a stand against the entire SmartGrid. I will be at the City Council meeting making my stand again.

source: Petaluma 360   Feb 14, 2011

The debate over PG&E’s controversial SmartMeters will be renewed Tuesday by the Sebastopol City Council, with opponents hoping that this time, with two new council members, a yearlong moratorium will be enacted.

Affecting the Local Press and Elected Representatives to Respect and Understand 9/11 “Truth”

January 26, 2011

Nor Cal Truth     Jan 26, 2011

Friends,

This coming September will be the 10th year anniversary of the 9/11 event that is still so relevant today. Lets work together!

How can we be effective as a peaceful local entity in a national movement for 9/11 Truth and Justice?

How many of you are in Sonoma, Marin, or Mendocino County? Any Bay Area folks?

Can we develop a broader NorCalTruth.org group? Could we, as a team of local 9/11 truth and justice  activists develop drafts for City Council, Board of Supervisor meetings and Press to spread our message?

Can we be an action group for Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth? Can we open a place up for these discussions via a forum or conference call?

Favorable KTVU News Coverage Uses NorCalTruth Video Upload; Grandmother Arrested During PG&E SmartMeter Protest

January 15, 2011

Nor Cal Truth    Jan 15, 2010

KTVU used some of the above footage in their news segment from the Jan 11th protest  - click here to watch their news segment from that evening.

Many of you might not know that SmartGrid will require you to purchase new appliances for your home:

What additional expenditures will be required on the consumer end?
In order to get the purported benefits of smart meters, consumers will purchase their own communications devices, computers, high-speed internet, special thermostats, appliance chips and other automated equipment. The cost of retrofitting or replacing existing appliances alone will be astronomical.

Without the expenditures, consumers will not see any difference from the new meters except higher electric bills.

Look at this review by Emeter.com:

The full vision requires integrating smart meter data applications, and then linking smart appliances to a Home Area Network (HAN) so that utilities can automatically send price data to appliances.

Bluetooth, a wireless technology developer, knows it and wants in - casually admitting how you will have even less control of your OWN HOME:

In its next stage, smart energy will also allow the utilities, or an energy broker within the home, to turn off high energy-consuming appliances where necessary to balance the grid. That implies an internal network within the home, which is probably wireless, which connects these devices to the smart meter.

Santa Rosa SmartMeter Protest Closes PG&E Office

December 9, 2010

I will provide more updates on this event in the near future; I was with this group for the day today fighting tyranny in our backyards. Have you see the last video produced by NorCalTruth featuring local residents blocking SmartMeter installations?

Please visit these sites for more information:

source: Press Democrat   Dec 9, 2010

Demonstrators protesting continued installation of PG&E SmartMeters around Northern California closed down a company service and payment center in Santa Rosa on Thursday after blocking the entrance.

Police said the demonstration on Stony Circle was generally peaceful, and PG&E opted to close the customer service office for the day rather than seek arrests, spokesman Paul Moreno said.

A leader of opponents to the wireless transmission meters, meanwhile, said some of the protesters were ready to go to jail if necessary to make the point that PG&E and the California Public Utilities Commission have an obligation to fulfill demand for more thorough studies into health concerns related to radio frequency emissions from the meters.

-Welcome to our new truth-activity site!

source: SF Gate   Dec 8, 2010

The first American fighter jet to respond to the attack on the World Trade Center on Sept. 11, 2001, has been given to the Pacific Coast Air Museum in Santa Rosa, where it will be the centerpiece of the West Coast’s first major exhibition about the attacks.

The U.S. Air Force F-15 Eagle, which was retired in 2006, was awarded to the nonprofit museum by the National Museum of the United States Air Force.

It was one of two F-15 aircraft that responded to the attack on the twin towers in New York, arriving just after the second hijacked airliner hit.
