U.S Army resorts to burning bibles.

Last month we all saw the video of US Army officers talking quite frankly about converting Islamist’s to the Christian faith, or proselytizing. In response to the public’s knowledge to this program, the Army has turned to burning the bible’s.
I don’t follow the bible, but was there not a better way to handle this? Like never having them printed for illigal practices in the first place? Or perhaps bring the books back to the US to be distributed to our multi-language Christians? Recycle them? Madness I say, madness… -Bri

The US army in Afghanistan has burned Bibles printed in local languages, a US colonel in Afghanistan has said, amid concerns they could have been used to try to convert Afghans.
“My understanding is that the [military] leadership confiscated these Bibles so that they could not be distributed around Afghanistan,” Colonel Greg Julian told Al Jazeera on Wednesday.
“It was their best judgement at the time, that the best way to deal with it, was to destroy them and I understand that they were burnt.”

WASHINGTON – The Pentagon is prepared to leave fighting forces in Iraq for as long as a decade despite an agreement between the United States and Iraq that would bring all American troops home by 2012, the top U.S. Army officer said Tuesday.
Gen. George Casey, the Army chief of staff, said the world remains dangerous and unpredictable, and the Pentagon must plan for extended U.S. combat and stability operations in two wars. “Global trends are pushing in the wrong direction,” Casey said. “They fundamentally will change how the Army works.”
He spoke at an invitation-only briefing to a dozen journalists and policy analysts from Washington-based think-tanks. He said his planning envisions combat troops in Iraq and Afghanistan for a decade as part of a sustained U.S. commitment to fighting extremism and terrorism in the Middle East.

Racheal Maddow hits on Obama’s “Prolonged detention and preventative detention.”

I normally don’t like to promote any anchorman or woman, but this seemed critical enough….
What she doesn’t mention is the “right wing extremism” report issued by the Department of Homeland Security last month. If you think that “preventative detention” would never be used against Americans, just look at the RNC8. The Patriot Act has now been used against American political activists.

Conservative radio host Erich Mancow waterboarded; admits it is torture.
May 24, 2009Remember, our leaders have been actively using this and other torture methods on suspected criminals with no jury or trial, and no habeus corpus to boot. Obama, get your ass in gear or get out.
“I want to find out if it’s torture,” Mancow told his listeners Friday morning, adding that he hoped his on-air test would help prove that waterboarding did not, in fact, constitute torture.

FBI Blows It: Supposed Terror Plot Against NY Synagogues Is Bogus

By the now, it’s maddeningly familiar. A scary terrorist plot is announced. Then it’s revealed that the suspects are a hapless bunch of ne’er-do-wells or run-of-the-mill thugs without the slightest connection to any terrorists at all, never mind to Al Qaeda. Finally, the last piece of the puzzle: the entire plot is revealed to have been cooked up by a scummy government agent-provocateur.
I’ve seen this movie before.

Four men were arrested late on Wednesday over alleged plots to attack targets in and near New York.
The four planned to blow up synagogues and use Stinger missiles to bring down military planes, US prosecutors said.
The men were seized after allegedly planting what they thought were bombs near two synagogues in the Bronx area.
They earlier agreed to buy explosives from FBI agents posing as Islamic militants. New York has been on alert for a new terror attack since 9/11….

Anytime there is a plane crash, it is good to relate it to the events on 9/11/01. Many people are skeptical of what really happened to flight 93, due to a lack of wreckage at the scene. Due to having invaded two countries that were no threat to it, America is intensely hated by millions of people. The torture of captives, most of whom are innocent of any wrong-doing, has greatly elevated the hatred. The only way the ordinary American people can defuse this hatred, and regain the respect they should have, is to show that they only agreed to invade Afghanistan and Iraq because they were lied to by the administration. By all means they must investigate the question of torture, and who authorized it, but they must not stop there. Most people now realize that they were lied to in order to obtain their approval for the invasion of Iraq, but few know they were also lied to in order to promote the invasion of Afghanistan.
Most people believe that the NIST report, and various papers supporting the official theory about 9/11, are more or less correct, however it is not safe to believe that. Recently one of the principal authors of papers supporting the official theory of collapse of the three skyscrapers at the WTC, has been shown to be most unreliable, as can be seen here:

President Barack Obama’s “administration is weighing plans to detain some terror suspects on US soil — indefinitely and without trial — as part of a plan to retool military commission trials that were conducted for prisoners held in Guantanamo Bay,” The Wall Street Journal said.
